At a critical moment in the ongoing conflict with Russia, some important ministers in Ukraine resigned late on Tuesday as a sign of a substantial government shakeup.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, the proper industries secretary, resigned in preparing for a new position in the defence industry, while deputy prime minister Olha Stefanishyna and the ministers of fairness, environment, and reintegration even left their positions. More than a fourth of the government is now vacant, as a result of earlier firings this year.
Before his future trip to the United States, where he plans to give President Joe Biden a “victory plan,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his political friends might use this opportunity to fill the vacancies and restore order.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the Ukrainian autumnal period and the need to strengthen particular government departments. ” Autumn will be very crucial for Ukraine. And our position organizations may be set up so that Ukraine achieves all the outcomes that we need, for all of us,” Zelenskyy said in his target.
Additionally, he dismissed Rostyslav Shurma, one of his lieutenant chiefs of staff in charge of the business.
David Arakhamia, a freshman lawmaker from Zelenskyy’s group, announced that there would be a “major state reset”, with more than half of the officials being replaced. Stefanishyna, who has been focusing on Ukraine’s pay to join the European Union and Nato, may be appointed as the mind of a larger department that combines her previous part with that of the justice department, according to a cause from Zelenskiy’s gathering cited by the Suspilne public broadcaster.
Kamyshin, who has been leading Ukraine’s efforts to increase military manufacturing, ranging from attack robots to long-range weapons, said,” I will remain working in the defence industry but in a unique position”.
He was hired in March 2023 after establishing himself as a capable director of the national railroads, which provided a crucial shipping link for both residents and the defense during Russia’s first full year of war in February 2022.
Under his leadership, Ukraine produced thousands of long-range drones to attack Russia, and last month, Zelenskiy announced the use of a new “drone-missile” and the testing of a new ballistic missile.
