According to the attorney for the man’s wife, William Bryan, a 70-year-old Alabama man who underwent surgery in Florida tragically lost his life after having his liver falsely removed before trying to pass off as an “enlarged spleen” was declared in his honor.
Bryan was a native of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and was visiting his leased property in Okaloosa County, Florida, with his family Beverly when he began experiencing serious problems in his lower left stomach.
As explained by Zarzaur Law P. A. in a social media post, Bryan was admitted to Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital in Walton County for worries about a possible heart dysfunction.
General Surgeon Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky, along with the patient’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Christopher Bacani, advised Bryan and his family that instant procedure was necessary to avoid serious problems.
Regretfully, Bryan agreed to have a hand-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy on August 21.
But, during the treatment, Dr. Shaknovsky falsely removed Bryan’s heart, severing its major blood vessels. The medical reduce resulted in “immediate and severe blood loss resulting in death,” the article read.
After falsely removing Bryan’s heart, the general physician labelled the instrument as a” spleen”, which was only identified as a heart after the boy’s death, as reported by the New York Post.
Dr Shaknovsky afterwards informed Beverly Bryan that her dad’s” liver” was greatly damaged, had grown four times its normal length, and had shifted to the other side of his body.
The liver is located on the upper left side of the stomach cavity, which is considerably smaller and lighter than the liver, which contradicts basic anatomical theory.
Additionally, Dr. Shaknovsky’s history of medical errors, including an alleged 2023 mishap where he allegedly removed a patient’s pancreas from the place of their choice, led to Zarzaur Law P A’s revelations. That situation was reportedly settled privately.
Beverly Bryan, devastated by the loss of her father, has retained Zarzaur Law to get fairness.
She expressed her resolve to avoid Dr. Shaknovsky from operating on other people, stating,” My father died helpless on the operating room table according to Dr. Shaknovsky’s stupidity. I do n’t want anyone else to suffer the same fate at a hospital that should have known about his previous, life-altering surgical mistakes”.
She is currently pursuing both her father’s dying in both civil and criminal court. In response to the event, North Walton Doctor’s Hospital has distanced itself from Dr Shaknovsky, removing his images and links from their site.
Although it has not provided certain facts, the Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital is now conducting an internal research.
The doctor stressed its commitment to patient safety and protection in a statement obtained by AL.com, saying,” We take claims like this really seriously, and our management team is conducting a thorough research into this function. Our top goal is and continues to be patient protection. Our emotions and condolences are with the home.
Following William Bryan’s death, a little tumour was discovered on his heart, which is believed to be the source of the problems that led to his hospitalisation.
