On Wednesday, oil prices dropped once more, continuing the downward trend that has been occurring since Labor Day weekend.

According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular gas on Wednesday is$ 3.317. This is a decrease from the previous week’s average price of$ 3.31 per gallon. Noteworthy: The highest number of states having regular gas at this price in 2024 is the nine that currently have an average price of less than$ 3 per gallon. Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina have fuel prices that plummeted to under that level.

Prior to the 2024 presidential election, oil prices will still be a significant concern. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nomination, will have to explain how she will deal with the nation’s high gas costs and energy costs as well as how they will affect the economy and the budget of the people.

Prices have fluctuated in 2024, but they have decreased over the past few weeks and months. However, fuel prices are still considerably higher than they were when Donald Trump took office.

Oil rates vary widely depending on the state. To see how expensive gasoline is in each state, visit here. Here are the fuel costs for a quart of regular-grade oil in and around Washington, D. C.

    Washington, D. C.

Gas prices in the nation’s capital continue to fall after Labor Day while remaining substantially higher than the national average. On Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Washington, D. C., is $3.574. This was a drop from a week ago when a gallon of regular gas averaged $3.614. It’s also cheaper than a month ago when it cost $3.693 for a gallon of regular in the nation’s capital.

    Delaware

The lowest rate for regular oil in Delaware on Wednesday is$ 3.165, which is the lowest in the area. Like many other states in the country, Wednesday’s price is also a decrease from a week ago, when gas cost$ 3.186 per gallon. Gasoline prices in the First State are even lower than they were a month before, when a gallon cost$ 3.302.

    Maryland

In Maryland, oil prices fell to$ 3.246 on Wednesday. The average rate for a gallon of regular gasoline was$ 3.285. This was a slight decrease from a year earlier. Virginia
