
According to CNN, at least four people were killed and dozens more were hurt in a shooting at a high school in Georgia on Wednesday, really outside Atlanta.
The tragedy prompted a heavy police reply, which resulted in the school being locked down and learners being taken to a local stadium.
Apalachee High School in Barrow County, which is located about 50 km north of Atlanta, was the location of the firing.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that one think is in prison.
Judge Jud Smith stated in a simple press conference on school premises that “what we see behind us is an evil thing today.”
Smith did not confirm any mortality, saying, only that there were “multiple injury” resulting from the firing.
Many law enforcement and emergency automobiles were seen circling the school on aircraft footage from WSB-TV.
Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, addressed the event in a statement.
Governor Kemp remarked,” I have directed all applicable state resources to answer to the incident at Apalachee High School and need all Georgians to meet my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state,” adding:” I have directed all applicable state resources to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School.
” We will continue to work with local, state, and national partners as we gather information and more answer to this condition”, Kemp added.
The FBI’s Atlanta department also issued a statement regarding the situation.
FBI Atlanta is aware of the current tumult at Barrow County’s Apalachee High School. Our brokers are working closely with and supporting local law enforcement, according to the FBI’s speech.
