NEW DELHI: A new memo from an undisclosed business stated that employees can no longer get leave to care for their sick kids, causing a lot of controversy over what some claim to be an extreme view of work-life stability.
The letter, which was published on the well-known Reddit website “antiwork,” has piqued the interest of angry employees who think the policy violates basic decency.
The letter states that” calling out because your child is ill is no longer a valid excuse to skip work and will now result in a write-up.” We do not use your kids, and as such, their disease is not an excuse for you to lose function. Come, staff”!

For many, the cold voice of the information was enough to flash fury, but it was the phrase” We do not use your kids” that set the world ablaze. People from all sectors have expressed concern over the suggestion that family obligations if n’t interfere with work obligations.
One user, commenting on Reddit, said,” Well, you do n’t employ my partner, my parents, friends, or extended family either. All of which could have my help, was death, may have a marriage, a graduation, or another major life event I want to become present for. It’s simply a matter of hiring children without any connections. Imbecile boss”.
Another writer took a more playful, still biting, approach to the situation, writing,” Obviously they want you to take your ill child/ren in with you, so they can nominate the boss’s desk with vomit”.
A second person commented,:” Sure things make you roll your eyes and say good, I’ll do it. Other things constantly foster resentment and cause you to work against the business. This is one of those”.
The reaction is brought on by a growing dissatisfaction with work environments, where staff feel squeezed between their personal responsibilities and their professional obligations. In recent years, conversations around flexible working problems, paid family leave, and individual rights have intensified, with many calling for businesses to show more compassion towards workers ‘ lives outside the company.
Some businesses are adopting progressive policies that emphasize the value of work-life balance, but many businesses seem to be doing the opposite, and this memo serves as proof.
