Shutdown Theater Act II: Save the SAVE Act From the Evil Ones

Welcome to Reset Theater’s next act. We’re negotiating video right and are working with HBO to create a high-concept, showy limited series for mature audiences. Sort of a” House of Dragons” meets” Industry”.

When last we left our anti-heroes, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Plank-Walking ) was in the process of coming up with a Continuing Resolution ( CR ) to fund the government past the October 1 deadline. The Freedom Caucus was beginning its own off-Capitol Hill production of” Rooster” with Democrats. If Democrats do n’t support the SAVE Act ( the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act ), then there’s a threat to shut down the government this time. &nbsp,

Donald Trump has now defeated the Freedom Caucus and is requesting that the House ballot on whether to include the SAVE Act in the CR on Wednesday.

” If Republicans in the House, and Senate, do n’t get absolute assurances on Election Security, THEY SHOULD, IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, GO FORWARD WITH A CONTINUING RESOLUTION ON THE BUDGET”, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He means it, in my opinion.

This CR would provide for the state through March 25, 2025. It’s already in danger of being scuttled by the right and left, which, if you’ve been following the storyline, you know is par for the course.

Act II of Shutdown Theater opens, and Speaker Johnson is desperately attempting to arrest the six or seven GOP individuals who have yet to pledge to support the CR.

He may crash. And this docudrama is all about nothing, which is a strange aspect. Senate Democrats oppose a costs that contains the SAVE Act, and Biden would not signal it.

But why bother? Because it sends a” signal”. No one has explained what kind of” signal” and who Republicans are trying to” signal”. If they’re trying to annoy other Republicans, that’s a bad sign because it’s a complete loss. If they’re trying to indicate potential GOP citizens, why use a worthless, failed congressional fad?

No problem. A message is a sign is a transmission. Whatever the information is, I’m sure the House Republicans are sending to the people who may understand it.

It does n’t appear that the plot is going Johnson’s way.

    Politico:

But Johnson’s opposition is also generally coming from his right side. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky. ), one of the members who has publicly stated he will not support the plan, informed his coworkers and the speaker that the package has “fairy tale levels of believability,” as per a witness at the private meeting.

And it’s not just liberals. Johnson’s issue is primarily related to the fact that several GOP parties oppose his program. Liberals on his right are typically opposed to any government funding costs and question why they would do so if the Senate is ultimately insolvent. Defense hawks are concerned about the effects a six-month paying piece would have on the Pentagon at the same time.

In the appointed ground vote on Wednesday, House Democrats are expected to about unanimously vote against the bundle, even though attendance concerns could trample the party’s efforts to support the opposition.

One Democrat will support the CR despite Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries ‘ objections. Vulnerable Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine ) will vote for the funding bill because he thinks the SAVE Act is necessary.

” I agree with]the SAVE Act], so what would my reason to never vote for it be”? Golden told Axios, adding that it is” a very bad idea to locked down the government”.

” I think the Democrats will hold together and unite”, said Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn. ), the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee. ” This is a foolish bill”.

Shutdown Theater is not a funny, just because a Democrat criticizes the costs for spending too much money.

Jeffries questioned why extreme MAGA Republicans would pass a bill that they know may be dead on appearance, might not even have the votes to pass the House, and will undoubtedly find no way in the US Senate.

Join us quickly for the upcoming thrilling Shutdown Theater film for the answer to that question and many more!
