The California Public Utilities Commission is considering eliminating the requirement for people to submit a Social Security number in order to be eligible for California LifeLine, a government-run system that provides low-income people with mobile incentives.
An extra 2 million residents would be included in the program’s umbrella if California LifeLine expanded to incorporate illegal immigrants. According to the Pew Research Center, 8 % of California’s households had an illegal immigrant in 2022, making up 7 % of the workforce.
On September 26, the company does voting on the plan.
” If an illegal Californian falls on hard times, they may benefit from this software, just like every other Californian”, CPUC President Alice Reynolds told Politico.
Gov. Reynolds was chosen by Governor Newsom (D-CA ) to lead the CPUC in 2021. The government may not be entirely supportive of her most recent plan, despite the fact that she is a Newsom nominee.
The government has warned his colleagues in the Golden State to prevent controversial matters that may detract from a winning information this November because a strong national race is shaping up between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
One of those things may be expanding the CPUC’s programme to illegal immigrants. Trump uses the report for illegal immigration to hit a powerful chord with his base.  , The former leader and his running mate, Sen. J. D. Vance (R-OH), usually warn that illegal immigrants are taking advantage of national plans and depleting tools for U. S. people.
Some state Republicans support Trump’s message, while the CPUC chairman and her allies assert that expanding California LifeLine is a matter of fairness and that paying into the system may benefit illegal immigrants. They are concerned that many visitors to the United States may profit from the subsidies without having previously made a donation.
” If you’re over on your success and we want to give you a finger off, not a flyer, I’m for it”,  , Republican state Sen. Brian Dahle told the outlet. But to just continue to strap the average taxpayer into giving out aid to those who have n’t made payments into the system? I’m opposed”.

In remarks to the Washington Examiner, California Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones made a similar level.
This is just one more item in a long line of free taxpayer giveaways for illegal immigrants who do n’t even need to provide documentation that they have paid into the system, according to Jones. California once more is urging the rest of the world to come around fraudulently and get their free gift. This day, it’s discounted devices”.
The leading Republican in the Golden State’s upper room, Jones is now attaching the CPUC’s mission to a Harris management.
” If Newsom’s PUC moves forward with this strategy, Americans should be very concerned about a Harris-Walz management taking this legislation nationwide”, he said.
Whether Newsom will choose to drop the CPUC’s fresh law granting subsidies to illegal immigrants or whether he will continue even though it could send Democrats arrows in their direction as they battle Democrats on Election Day.
He made the decision earlier this year to continue supporting controversial legislation that would make it illegal for colleges to give parents information about a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
After he signed the bill into law this summer, Newsom slammed Democrats for it loudly.
Kids do have a legal right to know what their small children are doing at school, according to a media release from the Liberty Justice Center. The condition is being sued by the traditional nonprofit organization over the costs. ” Parents are the legal guardians of their children, not Governor Newsom, Attorney General]Rob ] Bonta, or Superintendent]Tony ] Thurmond”.

But, before Harris climbed to the top of the Democratic seat, Newsom signed the contentious legislation into law. The vice president served for years in the position as an elected official, and the Trump plan has used her as strike feed. The government might be more reluctant to backing the CPUC’s determine than he might have been only months ago because all eyes are on Newsom’s long-time partner and her house state.
The Washington Examiner contacted Newsom’s office for opinion, but they were not contacted back.
