Former NFL legend Brett Favre revealed he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The Hall of Fame quarterback testified before the House Ways and Means Committee about the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families ( TANF ) program. He has been accused of poorly using his political connections to divert funds from TANF to the University of Southern Mississippi, his old mater, to build a tennis facility.
” Regretfully, I also lost an investment in a business that I believed was developing a ground-breaking injury medicine that would enable others. I’m sure you’ll understand why it’s to late for me because I just received a diagnosis with Parkinson’s, and this is also a cause that is dear to my soul. Recently, the doctor, running the company pleaded guilty to taking ( public ) money for his own use”, Favre told lawmakers on Tuesday.
Favre, played 20 NFL conditions, including 321 subsequent regular-season and playoff games. Favre spent the majority of his professional career with the Green Bay Packers. He won the Super Bowl in the 1996-97 year and won back-to-back-to-back Offers from 1995-1997.
Favre, 54, has said that he suffered” thousands” of injuries during his football career.
Parkinson’s disease is a problem that leads to deterioration in the mind and impairs motor skills by causing unintended or unregulated motor activities. Previous research has suggested that using sports could make you more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.
Favre is accused of receiving plan funds incorrectly for speaking engagements he never made. In trade for remarks he never delivered, Favre reportedly accepted$ 1.1 in national Snap funds from the state of Mississippi. Favre reportedly collaborated with the previous governor of Mississippi. Phil Bryant will use$ 5 million in Snap funds to construct a new volleyball complex in Southeastern Mississippi while his daughter plays for the group.
Favre has not been criminally charged, and he immediately repaid$ 500, 000 to Mississippi in May 2020 and the remaining$ 600, 000 in October 2021.
