The Haitian Bridge Alliance, a little non-profit Dominican immigrant rights team in Springfield, Ohio, has filed” member legal fees” against Donald Trump and JD Vance.

This absurd form of law is being taken seriously by the internet.
What” crimes” have Trump and Vance committed? The Democratic presidential campaign solution is” charged with disrupting public service, making false alarms, communications abuse, aggravated menacing and complicity”.
What exactly did Trump and Vance do? I never knew.
Five hundred thousand newcomers have poured into a small city, displacing Springfield’s medical and educational resources. It’s a cruel irony to accuse Trump and Vance of doing exactly what the Haitian immigrants do.  ,
” Their persistence and relentlessness, even in the face of the governor and the mayor saying this is false, that shows intent”, said Subodh Chandra of the Cleveland-based Chandra Law Firm, which is handling the complaint. ” It’s knowing, willful flouting of criminal law”.
This guy is not a very good lawyer. It’s an appeal to authority, not the law. However, it certainly looks good on the TV and in the papers.
President Trump is rightly highlighting the failed immigration system that ( Vice President ) Kamala Harris has overseen, which has brought thousands of illegal immigrants into communities like Springfield and many others across the country, according to Steven Cheung, communications director for the Trump-Vance campaign.
Temporary Protected Status has been granted to the 15, 000 to 20, 000 Haitian immigrants who have arrived in Springfield over the past few years, in many cases after being hired at local jobs.
State and local government buildings and schools were the targets of more than 30 bomb threats, which resulted in school closures and the deployment of additional law enforcement protection and security cameras. Some Haitian residents in the city have also expressed concern for their safety as the public grew ferociously, and Mayor Rob Rue has been the target of death threats.

” They would have been arrested by now if it had been anyone else besides Trump and Vance who had wreaked havoc on Springfield, causing bomb threats, closing government buildings and schools, and making threats to the mayor and his family,” Chandra said. ” They are not above the law”.
It’s a unique — and entirely false — application of the law, and any judge who receives the affidavit will laugh it out of court. Trump or Vance never urged anyone to threaten or obstruct any city services.  ,
Some of the charges are out-and-out bizarre.
- Making false alarms by knowingly causing fear in the Springfield neighborhood by continuing to tell lies that local and state officials have claimed were false,
- Committing telecommunications harassment — by spreading claims they know to be false during the presidential debate, campaign rallies, nationally televised interviews, and social media,
” Causing alarm” and” spreading false alarms” are two different definitions for the word “alarm”. Was this a high school student’s writing?
Every candidate going back to 1960 should have been in jail if it was a criminal act to lie during a presidential debate.

The national media’s eager acceptance of this nonsense is embarrassing. It’s not surprising, but it is disappointing.  ,
