The assassination of Hassan Nasrallah and the whole Hizballah high command, which was almost immediately followed by the murder of Nasrallah’s designated successor Hassan Khalil Yassin, may bring about the end of Hizballah as a force to reckon with in Lebanon. Nasrallah’s death even dealt a significant blow to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s decades-long campaign to impose dominance over the Middle East.

Again in 2015, Iran’s Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, explained that after Israel is destroyed,” the West’s identity and challenges may be discredited” and” the identity of Iran may become promoted”. Hizballah was one of the many friends, customers, and proxies across the Middle East who had worked tirelessly to advance that identity for decades.

In fact, the council of the” Shi’ite cross” began in Lebanon. As The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran explains, Hizballah (” Party of Allah” ) rose to prominence during the Lebanese civil war of the early 1980s. Hizballah was an Iranian proxy from its commencement, as the U. S. Supreme Court recognized when it ruled that Iran was answerable for payment to the families of the victims of Hizballah’s 1983 attack of the U. S. Marine camps in Beirut, in which 241 Americans were killed. In fact, Hassan Nasrallah and the Ayatollah Khomeini met at a meeting in Tehran where Hizballah got its start, along with a committee of Palestinian Shi’ites.

At this appointment, Khomeini gave his assent to the development of Hizballah as a company to the strong Syrian Shi’ite group, the Amal Movement, whose leader, Musa Sadr, opposed the idea of administrative rule that was the guiding principle of the Islamic Republic. Khomeini gave Shiekholislam Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who may eventually succeed him as Iran’s Supreme Leader, the job of supervising the creation of Hizballah. According to Nasrallah, Iran “offered Lebanon everything in its strength: income, education, and tips”.

In a February 1985″ Open Letter“, Hizballah associated itself with Iran’s Islamic Revolution:” We are the sons of the umma ( Muslim community ) —the Party of God ( Hizb Allah ) the vanguard of which was made victorious by God in Iran. The vanguard was successful in laying the foundations of a Muslim condition, which is a significant player in the world. The letter maintained that Hizballah’s political program was simply an outgrowth of its commitment to Islam:” As for our culture, it is based on the Holy Koran, the Sunna and the legal rulings of the faqih]an Islamic jurist, in this case, Khomeini] who is our source of imitation ( marja’al-taqlid ). Our society is crystal clear. It is simple to understand and is available to everyone.

It is not astonishing that Hizballah became well-known for the attack of military installations in Beirut on October 23, 1983 because Iran has a strong anti-American bias against the United States. Hizballah even won reputation for its terrorism suicide bombing at the U. S. Embassy in Beirut on April 18, 1983, which killed 63 folks, including 17 Americans. By abducting William Buckley, the CIA stop commander in Lebanon, on March 16, 1984, Hezballah continued its aggression against the United States. Afterward, Buckley’s prisoners sent a number of video showcasing how they were abusing him. After viewing the second, CIA director William Casey said:” I was close to tears. The most abhorrent issue I’ve always witnessed happened. I had known Bill for years, but he was not as recognized as he was. His brain was destroyed by them, too. His eyes became clear that his thoughts had been abused. It was brutal, ancient and barbarous”.

Although it became feared and loathed by targeting Americans, Hizballah’s main goal is to be the Syrian expansion of the Islamic Republic’s zealous contempt for Israel, pressing Israel from the northeast while Hamas, a Sunni team that was also funded from Tehran, pressured it from the south. &nbsp,

Hassan Nasrallah has passed away and Hamas has been decimated. Is Iran’s dream of a” Shi’ite crescent” dead with it? The Islamic Republic’s future does n’t appear to be as promising as it did a year ago, according to any reasonable calculus. &nbsp,

There is, however, one wild cards that could preserve dead Iran’s hope of regional identity and the death of Israel: the Biden-Harris program. Back in Nov. 2023, almost immediately after Iran-funded Hamas massacred 1, 200 Israelis, Old Joe Biden and Kamala Harris issued a sanctions waiver that enabled the Islamic Republic to claim$ 10 billion. The American gravy train to Tehran will likely continue operating if Kamala is elected president, which will allow the mullahs to carry on their jihad against Israel and to maintain their hopes of becoming the region’s dominant force. They’ll scream” Death to America” all the way to the bank.
