According to CBS News, former governor of Maryland Larry Hogan stated in a statement on Sunday that he would not support former president Donald Trump or evil president Kamala Harris in the future US presidential election. Speaking on’ Experience the Nation with Margaret Brennan’, a media progrram, Hogan, who served as governor from 2015 to 2023, expressed his concerns over the existing United social situation.
The country’s citizens will be able to decide whether or not one of the two individuals merits my support, Hogan said. Despite having Trump’s endorsement, he reiterated his intention not to support the former president, clarifying,” I did n’t vote for him in 2016 or 2020, and I’ve made that pretty clear”.
In a remarkably dynamic race in deep-blue Maryland, Hogan and Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks are now competing for an available seat in the US Senate. Hogan has regularly set himself apart from conventional Republican rhetoric because of his determination to criticize Trump.
” I have a totally separate identification after, you know, being chancellor for two words in the prettiest position, or one of the blue state in America”, he said. ” I stand up to him, perhaps more than just about everyone, and I’ll remain to”.
Hogan condemned Trump’s “divisive rhetoric”, raising concerns over the” toxic and divisive politics” that he believes have infected both Democratic and Republican parties. He said,” I’m very concerned, and I believe both parties are way off track from what their kind of base core values used to be,” arguing that the GOP has become more of a” Trump party” while the Democratic Party has shifted too far left.
Hogan showed little interest in sharing the stage with the original president during promotion activities despite having received Trump’s support. Hogan simply said,” I do n’t think I will,” when asked if he would support Trump or even play for the Baltimore Orioles. Nevertheless, he added,” He’s not going to actually be campaigning in Maryland. But he should go see a game somewhere, yeah — positive”.
