Russian officials reported that more than 100 Russian robots were shot down over Belarusian place on Sunday, making it one of the largest drone assaults on Russian soil since the country’s war in February 2022. The bombardment sparked wildfires and ruined homes in various areas.
The western Volgograd area facing the heaviest assault, according to the Russian ministry of defense, where 125 Ukrainian drones were intercepted immediately. Russian air mechanisms claimed that 67 drones had been shot down just in Volgograd.
An apartment building and a private residence in Voronezh were seriously damaged by falling debris from 17 caught robots. Aleksandr Gusev, the government of the area, confirmed the damage by sharing images of lights that were visible from a high-rise building on social media. Luckily, no fatalities were reported.
In the Rostov area, 18 drones were apparently shot down, sparking a fire in the fallout. According to Governor Vasily Golubev, the fire spread across 20 hectares ( 49,4 acres ) of forest, but it posed no immediate threat to nearby populated areas. Crisis services were constantly battling the fire.
However, across the frontier in Ukraine, 13 residents were injured in a series of over Russian attacks on the town of Zaporizhzhia. Authorities in Ukraine claimed that ten individual attacks, including one that involved a high-rise building and some home units, left the city ablaze by Russian-guided bombs.
” Now, Russia struck Zaporizhzhia with flying weapons. Common domestic buildings were damaged, and the gate of one tower was destroyed. In a post on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the town’s equipment and railroad also suffered damage. He added that two individuals were saved from the dust and that crisis services were also removing the particles.
The defense of Ukraine has issued warnings to the country that Russia may be gearing up for a new offensive in the southwestern region as a result of the strikes on Zaporizhzhia. Vladyslav Voloshyn, director for Ukraine’s southwestern military control, said Russian causes were getting personnel in the region, perhaps signaling future operations.
Ukraine’s air power reported that 22 Russian robots were launched over Ukraine during the night, 15 of which were shot down in the areas of Sumy, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, and Odesa. Five more robots were used to deter them using digital threats. The remaining two robots ‘ destiny is still a mystery.
