Gas prices are continuing to decline across the nation as the regular price for ordinary gas, according to AAA, dropped to$ 3.19 per gallon on Thursday. This is the lowest regular price for a gallon of regular gasoline since Jan. 20, 2024, when it was$ 3.075.

Oil prices have been declining since July, aside from a few minor increases at the pump a week ago. As a result, there are now 18 states with an average rate for regular oil of under$ 3 per gallon. These are Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Prior to the 2024 presidential election, oil prices will still be a hot topic. With President Joe Biden deciding not to seek election, Vice President Kamala Harris, then the Democratic presidential candidate, has to show how she will handle the country’s oil prices and electricity costs and how both affect the economy and people’s finances.

Oil prices have fluctuated throughout the year and have varied drastically between states despite the recent trend of decreases. Nevertheless, oil prices remain higher than when Trump was in business. Click here to view the oil prices in various state throughout the nation. Read on to find out what regular gasoline prices are on average in and around Washington, D. C.

    Washington, D. C.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas slightly decreased in Washington, D. C., on Thursday, coming in at $3.312. This was a drop from Wednesday’s price of $3.318 per gallon. Over the last week, prices have remained steady, with Thursday’s cost coming in only slightly less than a week ago when a gallon of regular gas was also $3.318. However, like states throughout the nation, the gas price in the nation’s capital is much lower than it was a month ago when it was $3.586 per gallon.

    Virginia

Virginia has even benefited from the current price decrease pattern, with regular gas costing$ 2.988 per gallon at the current rate. This is less costly than a week ago, when oil cost$ 3.022 per gallon. Thursday’s costs in Virginia are even lower than a fortnight ago when standard gasoline was$ 3.193 per quart. Virginia is currently the position in the Delmarva place with the lowest gasoline prices.

    Maryland

On Thursday, Maryland’s gas prices remained higher than the national average, with the average cost for regular gas at$ 3.32 per gallon. This was a slight decrease from Wednesday’s cost of$ 3.234 per gallon. However, it is still higher than last week when gas in the state was$ 3.18 per gallon. Typical oil cost$ 3.255 per gallon on Thursday, compared to$ 3.255 per gallon a month earlier.

    Delaware

Delaware’s petrol prices used to be the lowest in the Delmarva region, but that has changed with a considerable increase next week. Yet, despite these rises, oil prices did ever-so-slightly fall on Thursday, with the new rate for a gallon of regular gasoline sitting at$ 3.18. On Wednesday, the cost of regular gasoline was$ 3.181. This is more expensive than regular gasoline, which was$ 3.099 per quart a week ago. Additionally, Delaware people who paid$ 3.167 per gallon for regular oil are more expensive than they did a month earlier.

    Mississippi

Mississippi remains the position with the least expensive fuel in the country, sitting at$ 2.677 per gallon on Thursday. This was a little drop from Wednesday’s value of$ 2.682. A week ago, regular oil was$ 2.711 per gallon. Gas prices in the state are significantly lower than they were a month ago, when regular gas was priced at$ 2.851.

    California

On Thursday, California’s oil prices averaged at$ 4. 669 per gallon, making it the most expensive in the state. However, despite these higher prices, the country’s oil price has been falling. Thursday’s rate decreased slightly from Wednesday when standard gasoline was$ 4.676 per quart. A week ago, it cost$ 4.715 for a gallon of gas in the position. Petrol prices in California are higher than they were on a month back, when individuals in the Golden State paid$ 4.65 per gallon for regular oil, compared to many other states in the country.
