The job statement for September, which was released on Friday, showed that employment increased for people who were born in the country and decreased for those who were born abroad.
Over the past year, while, job has fallen by 825, 000 for local workers and risen by 1.2 million for the foreign-born.
For a variety of reasons, the breakdown of jobs by local or international birth has become popular in recent months. One is that Republicans have argued that refugees have benefited from President Joe Biden’s policies. Another possibility is that some authorities statistics do not properly account for the large number of immigrants who have come over recently in terms of contributing to economic growth.
Jobs for both categories of workers is revealed in the regular jobs report from the household survey. The figures, which are not adjusted for seasonal variations, are distinct from the payment work reported from the larger review of business organizations. Because the poll is smaller, the figures bounce around more.
In September, work for native-born employees rose by 920, 000, to 130.6 million.
Employment for foreign-born workers, however, dipped in the month by 222, 000 to 31.4 million.

One important word is that the native-born community is shrinking, and many people are aging out of the workplace.
So the overall amount of native-born employees may be stalling, but poverty for native-born employees remains low by historical standards.
