    Gas prices: Increase at the pumps for the third straight day

    Petrol prices increased repeatedly on Wednesday, marking the third straight time of enhances at the pump. The new national average for regular gas rose to$ 3. 205 per quart, according to AAA. This represents an increase of more than three cents since Monday, when gas was$ 3. 174 per quart. The average price for a gallon of regular gas remains the lowest since January 2024, when it was$ 3. 075.

    The cost of fuel is a crucial topic heading into the 2024 presidential election. With President Joe Biden deciding not to get reelection, Vice President Kamala Harris, then the Democratic presidential candidate, has to indicate how she will address the nation ’s fuel costs and energy prices and how both affect the economy and people’s money.

    Despite the recent fad of decreases, gas prices have fluctuated throughout the year and vary considerably among states.     Maryland

    Petrol prices increased again in Maryland on Wednesday as the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline rose to$ 3. 243. This was a slight increase from Tuesday ’s price of$ 3. 239. Both rates are slightly more expensive than a week ago, when owners in Maryland paid$ 3. 234 per quart at the pump. Petrol prices in the state are even higher than a fortnight ago, when standard gasoline was$ 3. 183 per quart.

    Delaware

    The cost of regular gas in Delaware decreased on Wednesday, with the price for a gallon dropping to$ 3. 206. This was a slight decrease from Tuesday ’s price of$ 3. 211. Despite the fall, oil prices in the First State are slightly more expensive than a week ago, when regular oil was$ 3. 181 per quart. It’s even more expensive to get fuel in Delaware than a fortnight ago, when a gallon of regular gasoline expense$ 3. 099.

    Virginia

    On Wednesday, regular gasoline in Virginia cost$ 3. 105 per quart, an raise over nearly four percent since Tuesday. Gas prices are more expensive today in the state than a week ago, when regular gas was under$ 3 per gallon, coming in at$ 2. 989. However, despite the recent increases, prices remain less expensive in Virginia than a fortnight ago, when standard gasoline was$ 3. 127 per quart.

    Washington, D. C.

    Gas prices dropped in Washington, D. C., on Wednesday, with the city’s average for a gallon of regular gas falling to $3.307 from $3.319. Overall, gas prices in Washington, D. C., have remained steady over the last week, falling in the same price range. A week ago, regular gas was $3.318 per gallon. However, gas prices have dropped significantly in Washington from a month ago, when drivers paid $3.526 per gallon for regular gas.

    Georgia

    Georgia is the new position with the least expensive fuel prices in the country, edging out Mississippi. The average cost for a gallon of regular gas in Georgia was$ 2. 732 on Wednesday. This was slightly less expensive than Mississippi’s price of$ 2. 744 per quart. Wednesday’s prices in Georgia were 22 cents cheaper than a week ago, when regular gas cost$ 2. 959 per quart. Fees are also less expensive in Georgia than a fortnight ago, when a quart of ordinary cost occupants$ 3. 058.

    California

    California remained the state with the most expensive gas in the nation on Wednesday, with a price of$ 4. 676 for a gallon of regular gasoline. This significantly decreased from Tuesday, when regular oil cost$ 4. 68 per quart. Wednesday’s cost was the same as a week ago. However, gas prices are slightly less expensive than a fortnight ago, when owners paid$ 4. 712 per gallon for regular gasoline.
