FBI Quietly Revises Crime Stats to Less Democrat-Friendly Numbers

One of the repeated abstains from the Harris-Walz strategy is that crime is along under the Biden-Harris management. Liberals have been downplaying crime statistics for decades, so this is not something new. However, the prospects and their caregivers have been trying to persuade Americans that this country has become safer since Biden stepped foot on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue this time.

This tale has some support from FBI crime statistics. However, RealClearInvestigations (RCI) has discovered that the bureau stealth-edited its crime statistics for 2022, and that change does n’t look so good for Democrats.

” When the FBI previously released the’ ultimate’ crime statistics for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the world’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1 %”, John R. Lott Jr. writes at RCI. ” This immediately became, and remains, a Democrat Party talking point to shop Donald Trump’s claims of soaring murder”.

” But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5 %”, Lott adds. ” The new information includes dozens more murders, rapes, thefts, and aggravated attack”.

A 6.6 % revision is n’t a negligible amount, yet the FBI has n’t mentioned the change, even though it’s been three weeks since the revision. The bureau’s September 2024 press release does n’t mention the higher crime numbers, although it harps on “hate crimes” as though they’re the most important issue.

” With the adjustments, there is a net increase of 80, 029 more violent crimes, 1, 699 more murders, 7, 780 more rapes, 33, 459 more robberies, and 37, 091 more aggravated assaults”, the Crime Prevention Research Center ( CPRC ) points out. Suddenly, these kinds of figures are not to be taken lightly.

Many people will assert that crimes that are n’t reported are n’t included in the crime statistics, which implies that the crime rate will naturally be lower. However, the CPRC shows that the data revisions revealed a significant increase in the atrocities that are often reported:

The fact that the majority of atrocities are n’t reported to the authorities is a major flaw in reported crime statistics. Death benefits from the fact that the majority of deaths are reported. But the revised information for 2021 and 2022 indicates a net increase of 1, 699 more deaths. How do you lose 1, 699 killings? Motor vehicle theft is another well-known violence class because the incidents must be reported for insurance to cover the robbery. However, the updated statistics reveal a gross boost of 54, 216 more incidents of motor vehicles.

Lott explains how the FBI relies on “guesswork” to compile its violence information:

How much speculation goes into even the “final” amounts that the FBI’s crime statistics revisions reveal. The FBI does n’t simply count reported crimes. Instead, it uses extrapolated information from police departments, which merely release partial-year data. Cities that do n’t report any data are also given estimates by the Bureau. Over time, the FBI’s method of producing these projections changes, and this has an impact on the statistics that are reported.

Just like those job numbers that the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised downward to the tune of 818, 000, the FBI crime stats revision does n’t reflect well on the Biden administration’s record-keeping. How does we rely on what the provincial government says?

” I have checked the data on total violent violence from 2004 to 2022″, Carl Moody, a professor at the College of William &amp, Mary who specializes in studying violence, told RCI. ” There were no adjustments from 2004 to 2015, and from 2016 to 2020, there were little changes of less than one percent level. The big changes in 2021 and 2022, particularly without an argument, make it difficult to believe the FBI data”.

I ca n’t help but think that these federal agencies are changing their numbers in an effort to extend Democrat rule for four or, perish the thought, eight more years. One thing’s for sure: if it’s not malice, it’s an alarming amount of stupidity.

In the figures above, examine the stats both before and after the FBI’s revisions:
