Trump was dubbed vile at the time for politicizing a crisis that had shut down the world economy and was causing the death of countless individuals. It was a bipartisan effort to stop the financial bleeding caused by people being forced to stay at home by using the money from the CARES Act to send out$ 1,200 balances. Trump, however, made sure that everyone who received the stimulus would connect him with the check by putting his name on it.
The strategy succeeded, leading to Trump’s call for more stimulus funds, defying the fiscal hawks in his party, and uniting with Democrats who were calling for$ 2,000 payments that would continue to slash the budget of the federal government.
However, four years later, when citizens remember seeing Trump’s label, they may be persuaded that he is more concerned with their needs than Vice President Kamala Harris.
