    Gas prices: Costs continue to fall across the country

    According to AAA, the average cost for a quart of regular gasoline dropped to$ 3.13 on Monday. This was less expensive than a week ago, when regular gas was typically sold for$ 3. 375. The lowest price for gas in the nation since Jan. 2024, when the regular price was$ 3.075, was at this point on Monday.

    Prior to the national election, oil prices are a crucial matter. With President Joe Biden deciding not to seek election, Vice President Kamala Harris, then the Democratic presidential candidate, has to show how she will handle the country’s oil prices and electricity costs and how both affect the economy and people’s finances. Gasoline prices are still higher than they were when past president Donald Trump took office.

    Washington, D. C.

    Gas prices increased in Washington, D. C., on Monday, rising to $3.313 for a gallon of regular gas. This increased from over the weekend when it only cost $3.298 per gallon. Monday’s price was higher than a week ago in the nation’s capital when regular gas was $3.309 per gallon. Monday’s price was slightly more expensive than gas prices a month ago, when a gallon of regular gas was  $3.31.

    Delaware

    Petrol prices in Delaware decreased on Monday, following the national pattern. A gallon of regular gas costs$ 3.045 on average in the state to begin the work week, down from$ 3.049. This was less expensive than a week ago, when Delaware people received a gallon of regular gasoline for$ 3.073. However, gas prices in the First State on Monday were lower than they were on a regular gas gallon last month, which was$ 3.177.

    Virginia

    On Monday, the regular price for a quart of regular gasoline in Virginia dropped to$ 3.058. This was a increases from Sunday’s value of$ 3.062. Both charges are less costly than a week ago, when standard gasoline was$ 3.081 per gallon. However, the current average rate is more expensive than a fortnight ago, when standard gasoline was$ 3.014 per quart.

    Maryland

    The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Maryland also decreased on Monday. The new total is $3.133, a drop from Sunday’s price of $3.136. Like every area but Washington, D. C., these prices in Maryland are less expensive than a week ago, when gas in the state was $3.155. However, prices are less expensive than a month ago, when regular gas soared to $3.244 per gallon.
