Bevelyn Williams, a pro-life activist, entered a national prison in Alabama earlier this month. Williams was given a 41-month jail sentence for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act while protesting outside a New York City Planned Parenthood facility in June 2020. Williams is a Christian family, a loving family, and a person who has experienced the pain of pregnancy. The FACE Act may be repealed, and she needs to be forgiven and brought back together with her home.  ,
In 2019, Williams watched in horror as then-New York Gov. The Reproductive Health Act was signed into law by Andrew Cuomo. Yet as someone who had had numerous miscarriages, she found it troubling that the government had legalized contraception right away. During her punishment reading, she made a speech before the judge. In it, she said:
After I got my first pregnancy, it took a burden on me. … The next thing I know, I am waiting in the room and it’s day. I go to sleep, I wake off, it’s done. But it was n’t done. You ca n’t just pull something out of you; you ca n’t cut something out of you without suffering the emotional blows that people go through every day. And for me, that led me down a pretty, very dark path of despair.
Williams ‘ second abortion resulted in more emotional turmoil. But amid a chaotic career, Williams gave her heart to Christ. Her compassion for those considering pregnancy sparked her pro-life engagement.  ,
Williams had no idea she would rally in front of an abortion center. She began to care about other black people who were considering abortion after her life was given to Christ. She wanted to reach these people to tell them about her narrative and assist them in choosing their lives because she was aware of the suffering that comes with pregnancy.  ,
Bevelyn Williams is currently facing the second-longest sentence in a string of recent FACE Act views. Lauren Handy was wrongfully convicted in a FACE Act test in Washington, D. C., in August of 2023 and was sentenced to 57 times, the only plaintiff to have received a longer word than Williams.
Williams, a married mom of a young child, was blindsided by the length of the word. When her legal team requested she remain at home with her family during the appeal process, the judge refused, saying, in Williams ‘ words, that she was a danger to the” streets” and” society”. Williams said,” I am loud, but I am quiet. I am excited. But am I harsh? No” . ,
During Williams ‘ sentencing hearing, prosecuting lawyers referred to Handy’s event, saying that both involved alleged injuries to pregnancy center employees. In Willams ‘ event, at the New York City Planned Parenthood opposition, a staffer’s side was reportedly caught in a doorway — which federal prosecutors presented as Williams doing consciously. Williams ‘ attorney disagreed, in his mind, it was fairly minimal.
Bevelyn stated to the judge,” I did n’t go there with intentions to hurt that woman or anyone else.” I wanted to spread the church, and I wanted to use the information that God had given me because I experienced it. I’m no judging those women who enter the facility and are prepared to have an abortion. I know precisely what it’s like”.
Willams was accused of violating the FACE Act in June 2020 because of her interfering with people seeking contraception. Unlawful council was the official title for the act that was given to her.
A three-plus-year word for unlawful council is severe. By using the FACE Act, the Biden-Harris management continues to prosecute pro-lifers in unfair ways. According to legend, the FACE Act was established to safeguard both contraception services and childbirth centers. However, the FACE Act has been abused and used to serve as an example for pro-life protesters. As Republican legislators Mike Lee and Chip Roy wrote earlier this year,” Since its passage, the FACE Act has been used approximately , 130 times , against pro-lifers— but has only been leveled in defence of temples and pregnancy centers five days, even though temples and pro-life facilities are  , 22 times more likely to be attacked than pregnancy hospitals”.
For the majority of her political career, Kamala Harris has used the legal system to deter Americans who work to protect preborn children. As California’s attorney general, she went after pregnancy resource centers and pro-life journalists, describing peaceful attempts such as Williams ‘ protest as “outrageous and immoral”.
Bevelyn shared her thoughts on Facebook in her own words, saying,” My family and I are still hopeful and are trusting God in this difficult time.” The Bible is clear that persecution will happen, but ministry continues, even in prison. Our job as Christians is to be a light, especially in dark places” . ,
Pray for our ally in this life-changing mission, as she sacrifices her life to accomplish this goal. We must stop this prejudice and repeal the FACE Act, as Lee and Roy are doing in Congress. Not only does it depend on our human rights, but it also depends on the rights of the unborn children in the womb.  ,
