After the station’s coverage of Pennsylvania’s 2024 election results over the course of a month leading up to Election Day, an ABC internet sparked a significant reaction.
An election results homepage appears at the bottom of the camera on a video shared on X, previously Online, during a televised spread of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix on WNEP-TV, an ABC local advertising.
In the video, the election results showed former president Donald Trump with 47 % of the vote and vice president Kamala Harris with 52 % of the vote in the 2024 presidential election.
Numerous social media users claimed that the affair suggested possible lying in the 2024 presidential election following the tv station’s mistake.
One social media users tweeted,” If the same images pop up after November 5th, with the same ratios &, the same ballot matter, it’ll be EXTREMELY cautious. And the advertising ponders why no one has faith in them.
Another cultural internet users commented,” ABC is cheating for the Democrat system. Their license may become revoked”. A second social media users wrote,” And just like that, ABC reveals they are part of the lying by unintentionally broadcasting their test vote effects.” Kamala wins the PA by 5 %. Does anyone consider these liars again”?

Addressing Sunday’s event, WNEP-TV released a statement, saying,” Examine benefits for the upcoming November 5 general election falsely appeared on WNEP-TV early Sunday night during a spread of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix”.
WNEP-TV claimed that the election results displayed during the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix” should not have appeared” on tv and that the affair was” an problem.”
The figures displayed on the screen were merely the result of a series of test results that were provided to media organizations to ensure that their products was operational before election day, according to WNEP-TV. The results did not accurately represent any real vote count.
WNEP-TV explained that Pennsylvania’s vote laws do not allow mail-in votes to get “taken out of their packets until 7: 00 a. m. on Election Day” and that no vote in Pennsylvania had been counted until the state’s elections close at 8: 00 p. m. next Tuesday.
WNEP-TV told viewers that it “regrets the error and apologizes for any confusion” caused by Sunday’s incident. The ABC affiliate added that it had “taken steps” to prevent the broadcast error from occurring again in the future.
