On Friday, Kong-rey was forecast to have extreme rain and strong winds affecting Shanghai and its neighboring areas along China’s eastern coast.
On Thursday, a tornado that was moving across Taiwan caused tree falls and landslides that blocked roads and destroyed homes. More than 500 people were injured and two people died as a result of the crisis.

In Taiwan’s investment Taipei, light rain continued Friday night, while most academic institutions and workplaces resumed procedures, with public services generally returning to normal.
Prior to the week-long emergency, Tropical Storm Trami, which had originally caused 145 casualties in the Philippines, had originally moved northward.
As the wind passed near the southern area of China’s Hainan province, a well-known tourist destination known for its maritime attractions, seven people died as a result of the intense precipitation largely attributed to Trami.
