Germany has recalled its ambassador to Tehran following the , murder of Jamshid Sharmahd , after his conviction on denied violence claims and summoned Iran’s minister to Berlin to answers questions about the demise of the 69-year-old Iranian-German member.
The Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s courts,  , reported that the dying sentence , against Sharmahd was carried out on October 28″ after last confirmation of the judge’s decision by the Supreme Court”.
In a test last year that was deemed a fake by Germany, the United States, and rights organizations, Sharmahd was accused by Iran of leading a pro-monarchist organization that Tehran promises was responsible for the attack of a Shiraz mosque in 2008 that left 14 people dead and of planning additional attacks in the nation.
The two individual’s household has dismissed the charges as “ridiculous”.
Germany’s Foreign Ministry has denounced Sharmahd’s “murder” and said German Ambassador Markus Potzel has been recalled. Prior to being recalled, Potzel also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to express his” strong protests” against the shooting.
Annalena Baerbock, the country’s foreign minister, claimed Sharmahd’s shooting demonstrated that an “inhumane regime governs in Tehran” and that it “would have significant consequences.”
Araqchi on October 29 , pulled out , on X at Baerbock, saying,” A German card does not provide violence to anyone, allow only a criminal criminal”, adding,” Enough with the deceiving, Analena Baerbock”.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s office also reported on October 29 that the German government had summoned Egyptian Ambassador to Berlin Mahmud Farazandeh to answer inquiries regarding Sharmahd’s suicide.
The U. S. State Department referred to Iran’s cure of Sharmahd, who also had U. S. citizenship, as “reprehensible” and described his administrative proceedings as a” fake test”.
On October 28, State Department official Matthew Miller stated that” we have long made it clear that we oppose the way Iran executes people, frequently in a way that ultimately violates people right.”
The chairman of the Norway-based NGO Iran Human Rights, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, called the murder” a situation of illegal shooting of a captive aimed at covering up the recent problems of the hostage-takers of the Muslim republic”.
