At a campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, former US President Donald Trump once more blasted the medical consensus on climate change and made fun of the rising sea levels. Viewing the concept of international climate as exaggerated, he argued that nuclear heat, no climate change, poses the most significant risk.
” I will cancel the natural new fraud, one of the great scams in record. Remember, we came up when our nation was going to be gone in 12 times. They refer to global climate as climate change, which they used to refer to as global warming. You know why? Because it is covered by climate change if it is too warm. Climate change is a problem that we are dealing with. If it’s cool, it’s fine. If it’s hot as hell it’s great. Because the world is actually cooling, it used to be Global Warming. So we have that, but you know the biggest climate problem we have is atomic warming”, Trump stated.
He therefore mocked concerns about rising sea levels, saying” So they talk all the time about the sea will rise in 500 times, one-eighth of an inch, who the devil cares”? before shifting his attention to what he claimed was the real issue,” But we have maniacs who have nuclear weapons and we ca n’t let that happen.”
Trump’s statements contrast sharply with those of the Biden administration’s and vice president Kamala Harris regarding weather policies and positions.
Throughout his political career, Trump has repeatedly expressed suspicion about climate change, reportedly referring to it as a “hoax” on many occasions. The Trump presidency rolled up several environmental laws and favored increased oil and gas drilling during his presidency from 2017 to 2021.
Trump’s most contentious statements came when he announced in 2017 that the country would leave the Paris Agreement, a global climate deal. Trump argued that favoring nations like China and the Paris Agreement would hurt National work.
President Biden signed an executive order to re-enter the United States into the deal shortly after taking office in 2021.
Trump has stated that he would once more remove the United States if elected for a second term. from the Paris Agreement. In contrast, the Biden administration has made reducing rely on fossil fuels and encouraging solar power a top concern.
Although different opinions on certain policies, the majority of scientists concur that climate change caused by humans will result in rising sea levels, extreme weather events, drought, and other effects over the coming decades without considerable greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
