Kamala Harris, the Democratic nomination for president and vice president, made a surprise look on” Sunday Night Live” this weekend. In a humorous trade, Harris appeared alongside longstanding cast associate Maya Rudolph, who portrayed her with lively accuracy.
The category opened with Rudolph’s Kamala expressing a desire to speak with someone who understands her encounter:” I wish I could speak to someone who’s been in my shoes, a Black, South Asian woman running for President”. Harris, playing off the time, replied,” You and me both, girl”, setting the tone for a humorous speech.
Throughout their two-minute change, Harris took a shot at her opponent, former President Donald Trump, referencing a current event in which he struggled to start a garbage truck entry during a campaign stop in Green Bay, Wisconsin. ” It is good to see you, Kamala, and I just want to tell you that you can do things your opponent cannot perform”, Harris told Rudolph. ” You may start windows”.
The two subsequently played with Harris ‘ primary brand, which Trump has frequently mispronounced. ” Get my palm-ala”, Rudolph said as she took Harris ‘ hands. The British people want to put an end to the dram-ala and put an innovative new stepmala on top of it. Kick up in our pajam-alas and see a rom-com-ala”. Harris, drawing on her history as a past counsel and state attorney general, suggested putting on ‘ Legally Blond-ala.’
The two Harrises wore similar clothes: a black dress, black suit, and dark slacks, both adorned with a double piece of pearls and National symbol pins on their lapels.
In a strong instant, they urged supporters to” Stay Kamala and carry-on-ala”, reiterating their shared belief in the promise of America before delivering the typical’ SNL’ sign-off:” Sit from New York, it’s Saturday night”!
