Jim Messina, the vice president’s candidate for the Obama campaign in 2012, told MSNBC that the first election results for him are a little frightful, adding that several of his friends called him crying because the early voting results show a rise in Republican voter turnout.
” Republicans did n’t do what they did last time”, Messina continued. ” Last time, Trump said do n’t early vote so they did n’t. Democrats do have a significant advantage in early voting numbers. When the first vote come in, it’s going to appear a little bit different than 2020 and that’s terrifying”.
Democrats are pleased with the Harris camp’s first voter turnout, which included younger voters and people, according to Messina. ” Women voters make up 55 per cent of first citizens, and in the past 10 weeks, young citizens in these battleground states are coming out in what looks to remain, for early citizens, traditional numbers”.
Messina is not losing desire, and he claimed that Harris is still fighting well in the final stretch of the plan.
” But when you look at some of the first ballot amounts, it has led thousands of your friends and my friends to contact me panicking”, he continued. And I do believe it to be accurate: The Republicans performed better on the first vote than they did next day.
In the earlier voting interval that took place in some states over the past several weeks, about 75 million people have cast votes. According to estimates from first election, the turnout for the election will likely be between the two-thirds of eligible voters who voted in 2020 and the roughly 60 % who turned out in 2016, according to professor Michael McDonald of the University of Florida.
Statistics collected by the University of Florida Election Lab’s first vote monitor display that 42, 664, 880 people have voted early in man, while 35, 376, 421 mail-in ballots were returned as of the day of Monday, November 4. This number is almost half the entire 158.4 million votes cast in the 2020 election. According to the statistics, Democrats are now more likely to cast ballots on Election Day than they were in the past. In earlier elections, Democrats favored first in-person and mail-in election.
