The Israeli army push said on Monday that it has “eliminated” a high-ranking Hezbollah captain, Abu Ali Rida, who was accused of orchestrating jet and anti-tank missile strikes against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Rida, who commanded Hezbollah‘s activities in the Baraachit place, was killed in an air attack, though the military did not disclose the schedule of his death.
Rida “was in charge of planning and carrying out rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on IDF ( military ) troops” and “oversaw the terrorist activities of Hezbollah operatives in the area,” the military said in a statement, according to AFP news agency.
Hezbollah fired missiles into north Israel in support of its supporter Hamas in Gaza after nearly a year of escalating cross-border fighting. This is a significant increase in what is now Israel’s most bloody conflict with Hamas, which started with a shock attack on southern Israel on October 7th of that year.
Israeli troops have increased their bombardment of Hezbollah goals throughout Lebanon since the start of the warfare between Israel and Hezbollah in late September of this year. In addition to Hassan Nasrallah, the former head of Hezbollah, some important commanders and leaders of the organization have died as a result of this military strategy.
