In America, babies are born with a weapon in their arms. Yeah, ok, that’s certainly not true actually. It’s just a way of saying that when it comes to guns, there ai n’t no country like US of A- for every 100 Americans, there are 120.5 civilian-owned guns, legal or illegal.
US people: 346 mg.
US civilian-owned artillery: 393 mg.
That leaves the United States as the only nation with more artillery than people in the world. Will some of those weapons be in use as a result of poisonously divided America’s governor polls starting today? That’s the worry that more intelligent American critics have been making for decades.
If Harris or Trump wins great, that pain’s less. If effects are nearby and hotly contested, that pain’s more. But also a great victory, say, for Harris, does n’t remove the anxiety.’ Some Trump supporters may decide that bullets must be used to accomplish the job that ballots could n’t if the Don throws a tanTrump.
In the first six weeks of 2024, at least 400 instances of political crime were reported in the US.
– That’s an 80 % hop compared to the whole of 2022.
– Trump was just the most popular destination.
– Unreported elsewhere in the earth, nearby US officials, election officials, provincial leaders, school authorities and emergency responders have been targeted.
The risk of political crime is “high,” according to the US Department of Homeland Security.
– In a 2022 study, 1 in 3 older Americans determined political violence to “protect democracy”.
One in seven people predicted a civil war in the US in the coming decades.
30 % of MAGA Republicans, who are prepared for a civil war, held this view to be the most powerful.
– A 2024 survey found 9 % of Americans agree with batshit crazy conspiracy theories ( example: Satan-worshipping paedophiles run American institutions ).
– 20 % thought they were living in the end of days.
Wow, correctly? However, it increases well. There are 169 trained private militias in America. When Trump falsely claimed that the 2020 election was” stolen” from him, many of these were in full view.
And then there’s cultural advertising. YouTube, X, Facebook, Telegram host thousands of organizations where a lot of pissed off people with abuse rifle get their jollies talking about taking” the battle” to the streets. In social public’s dark, damp nooks and crannies, socially charged gun-toters attract and motivate other gun-toters.
A report ( https ://shorturl.at/l8m7P ) in The Guardian quoted an expert on political violence, Garen Wintemute:” There are, on any given day in US, thousands of armed people walking the streets who support the idea of political violence and are willing to engage in it”.
He also said:” What we have ( in America ) is a uniquely high rate of fatal assaultive violence, and that’s because we have a unique level of access to firearms …”.
There are many guns in the US, and there are many unhappy people who believe they have a political viewpoint, so mix it up and take cover. That’s a lovely way to put it.
