Democratic lawmakers recently criticized the Biden-Harris supervision over fears of “deficiencies” in the Pentagon’s election “protocols and methods” for U. S. service people.
In a letter sent to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last Wednesday, Reps. Brian Mast (R-Fla. ), Mike Waltz (R-Fla. ), and Bill Huizenga (R-Mich. ) expressed “grave concern” regarding “deficiencies in the Defense Department’s protocols and procedures”. The Pentagon “has not done enough to inform our service members about their choices for election, nor has it invested enough resources to allow the men and women wearing our government’s even to exercise their right to vote,” according to the Republican lawmakers.
Mast, Waltz, and Huizenga warned Austin that U. S. service members had informed them that there had been “inadequate knowledge” at the government’s managerial stage regarding how service members may register to vote, demand an absentee ballot, and use a national write-in absentee ballot. Additionally, the Republican lawmakers in Austin reported that some support people had been informed that national reserve supplies of write-in absent votes were “depleted and had not been replenished.”
The Pentagon must do everything in its energy, according to the politicians, so that this election cycle’s elite troops have every chance to make their voices heard. This is especially important since voters may be deciding our second commander-in-chief- the person who may be making life-and-death judgments for our troops”.
The Democratic representatives urged the Pentagon to “mobilize all the important resources” to give every service member a chance to cast a ballot in the 2024 election.

In light of the reported Pentagon “deficiencies”, Mast criticized the Biden-Harris management, telling Fox News that the leadership has used federal resources to prevent election integrity steps across the United States.
They claim to care about democracy and the right to vote, but Mast claimed that they have failed to make a plan to facilitate the right to vote for each and every one of our country’s brave men and women in uniform. ” This is absolutely unacceptable”.
Waltz claimed on Fox News that the Pentagon needs to “reassure” military personnel who are putting their lives on the line for the United States that they have the “information and tools they need” to cast ballot in this year’s election.
Huizenga described the service members ‘ claims of military voting as” completely unacceptable” in a statement to Fox News. Huizenga added,” Sadly, this is the latest example of the Biden-Harris Administration failing to stand up for our servicemembers”.
