North Carolina has been seen as a” toss-up” state since Harris first entered the race, according to Newsweek. However, results from vote night immediately started to suggest a Trump success.
Trump won Anson County, North Carolina, which has voted Democrat in every political culture at least since Richard Nixon — and before that, good since Reconstruction, according to WFAE. Its population is almost 50 percent dark, a demographic group that generally leans Democrat. However, Trump received almost 51 % of the vote, making the region his winner.
