In 2020, Donald Trump received less than 30 % of the ballot in Dearborn, Michigan. In the two districts in Dearborn’s west end, where the majority of Arab-Americans live, he received only 10 % of the voting.

But, after Trump’s campaign of Dearborn and another Arab-American cities in the last two months of the campaign, his engagement to the neighborhood paid off handsomely. Trump won a plurality of votes in Dearborn by 43%-36 % over Harris. Jill Stein, the Green Party member, received 18 % of the voting. When all the votes are cast, Trump was predicted to gain the two overwhelmingly Arab-American neighborhoods in Dearborn. Trump even won a plurality of votes in Dearborn Heights, another seriously Muslim community.
In Hamtramck, Mayor Amer Ghalib had endorsed him. In 2020, Biden won 85 % of the voting in the Arab-American working-class area. In 2024, Trump lost by only 4 points, 46 %-42 % this time.
” Whoever loves, supports, and trusts our command, voting Trump”, said Ghalib in a letter to his supporters. Voting is a chance for our society to rise to the top, so kindly go out and voting. Do n’t lose this opportunity. If you trust my command, choose voting for Trump”.
Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Hamtramck, the three leaders with the highest proportion of Muslim Americans, did not support Harris. While Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud did not support any candidates, Ghalib and Dearborn Heights Mayor Bill Bazzi both supported Trump, and they both spoke on level in Novi with him. At Monday night’s final plan rally in Grand Rapids, Galib and Bazzi addressed the audience.
Before the battle in Gaza, there was resentment with the Democrats in Dearborn as activists protested against some LGBTQ+ publications in public schools they perceived as being too obvious. As a result, Democrats lost assistance in heavily Muslim precincts in Dearborn in November 2022.

Trump’s support was n’t all due to the Gaza War. In 2022, Muslim families in Michigan protested what they termed” sexually unambiguous” LGBTQ books in school libraries, which gained national attention.  ,

The American leaders must take care of the country’s residents. Given that there are so many structural issues around in the United States, why are we so concerned about every issue in the world?
Regardless of their race or religion, Trump’s America First chance plan is quite appealing to newcomers. For that reason, Republicans have a genuine opportunity to make significant advances in the Arab-American area.
Progressives had a toxic impact beyond Harris and Biden. GOP Senate candidate Rep. Mike Rogers lost to U. S. Rep Elissa Slotkin, the Democratic nominee, by only two points, 41%-39 % in Dearborn. The Green Party’s Doug Marsh received 15 %.

One of the two Arab leaders who supported Trump’s political candidate, Bill Bazzi, stated on Tuesday that the Middle East was a little calmer place before Trump took office.
