Israel Katz, the prime minister’s oath-taker, took his oath on Thursday before the parliament following the unanticipated removal of his father according to trust concerns raised by the Gaza conflict.
Following recurring disputes regarding Israel’s military action against Hamas, which occurred after the Israeli violent group attacked Israel on October 7 last year, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Yoav Gallant on Tuesday.
Katz, recently serving as foreign secretary, assumed Gallant’s position, whilst Gideon Saar stepped into the status of foreign secretary. Katz expressed his determination to overcome Israel’s opponents.
Katz’s last day as foreign secretary was marked by political tensions with France, when Israeli authorities partially detained two gendarmes and entered a French-owned spiritual facility in Jerusalem.
French FOREIGN MInister Jean-Noel Barrot was forced to reschedule his designed attend to the East Jerusalem compound’s Eleona religion substances as a result of this circumstance.
During a joint looks on Thursday, Barrot acknowledged Israel’s right to self-defence whilst revealing concerns about negotiation activities, restrictions on humanitarian aid, and continuous flying operations in northeastern Gaza.
Opposition leaders from all Israel’s political divisions criticized Netanyahu’s decision to remove the defense secretary during the war, which led to thousands of citizen demonstrations on the streets.
Gallant and Netanyahu had significant disputes about the exemptions for ultra-Orthodox people from military service.
Netanyahu preferred to keep ultra-Orthodox Jews ‘ deduction because the dismissed minister was worried that mandatory service might destabilize his far-right coalition government. He had vehement support for military service for the minister.
