President Joe Biden argued that election integrity is a problem of the previous after former leader Donald Trump won the election by a landslide. Campaigners for electoral dignity beg to differ.
” I hope we may put the question of the dignity of the British electoral system to sleep. It is fair, it is good and it is clear. And it can be trusted, win or lose”, Biden said on Nov. 7 according to The Hill.  ,
Similar messages have been being propagated by tradition media sources. The New York Times claimed yesterday that” After Trump Took the Lead, Election Deniers Went Suddenly Silent” ( “election deniers” is the press’s propaganda term for election integrity advocates ).
But that is fake. When problems rose on election day, dignity advocates took immediate action to stop them from becoming a bigger issue. Trump’s enormous turnout made this election” to big to rig,” but that does not imply that it was free of any malicious actors trying to rig it.
Election Night
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, authorities found broken safety seals on various tabulators before elections closed, causing leaders to tell 31, 000 votes, as The Federalist previously reported. The topic affected 13 tabulators. A Republican poll observer claimed at the time that” halting techniques” were being used by officials and that it” seems like they are trying to figure out what they need to win.”
But the problem gained attention, and, at the very least, drew supervision from election integrity activists. The Republican National Committee was likewise keeping tabs on the issue, and Republican Sen. Ron Johnson visited Milwaukee’s Central Count place to check on it.
In Pennsylvania, several districts turned aside Republican poll observers on Election Day, as The Federalist reported. But the RNC intervened, and the surveys monitors gained admittance.  ,
In Cambria and Luzerne districts in Pennsylvania, surveys problems — including a ballot-scanning problem — caused long delays to vote, but leaders agreed to extend voting days to account, The Federalist reported. And in Centre County, according to Chairman Michael Whatley’s post on X, officials were planning to stop counting ballots over but changed their minds when the RNC sued.  ,
Other problems surfaced throughout the day and into the evening, such as bomb threats that targeted Georgia‘s and Pennsylvania‘s election practices. But for the most element, where problems occurred, election integrity activists tried to respond. This vote did not lay issues of dignity” to rest”, as Biden suggested, nor did dignity advocates go” immediately silent” because Trump was winning, as The New York Times claimed.
However Seeking Integrity
The NYT targeted attorney Cleta Mitchell, head of the Election Integrity Network, while making this claim. In the past, the channel has smeared her and the EIN for allegedly pushing” Trump’s vote lies.”
” They are liars”, Mitchell told The Federalist. They have not bothered to learn anything about the activity for election integrity. They hate us”.
Mitchell said the NYT is pushing a “false narrative”. She said it has worked to “insult, attack, devalue, and harm” her and “every another dignity head and voluntary” for more than three times.  ,
Why would anyone pay attention to their preferences right then? Mitchell asked.  ,
Mitchell claimed that the election was successful because of the efforts of campaign dignity activists and not because of the absence of undesirable actors. She said election integrity protesters “built an system” with individuals learning about election script and methods, and lawyers on reserve, to get issues when they arose.
We prevented minor problems from growing to significant ones. AND because they knew there were many, several eye on the process, they may NOT think about planning great adjustment work”, Mitchell said. They simply could not do anything the way it was done in 2020.
Patrice Johnson, chair of the nonprofit Michigan Fair Elections, said there were integrity issues in Michigan elections. She claimed that many new registered voters have cast ballots without obtaining verification of residency, identity, or citizenship, and that Detroit’s candidates have not had as immediate access to a screen as they have in 2020.  ,
“EI]election integrity ] advocates were trained and educated on the law. They identified problems early and resolved them in accordance with published rules and procedures,” Johnson said.  ,
Johnson referred to as “baloney” the NYT’s assertion that Trump’s supporters of integrity. There is still a lot of work to be done, she said.
” We are not standing down”, Johnson said. ” This election did go much more smoothly, though, because of the professionalism of the citizens and the transparency that was generally provided. Transparency is the best disinfectant”.
Mitchell and Mitchell both agreed that more work must be done to improve electoral integrity, citing the need to update the VOTE Act, the Help America Vote Act, and the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act ( UIOCAVA ). She stated that advocates are still working to improve the security of election laws.  ,
Mitchell stated that” we are working on model state legislation to fix the issues in their election codes.” We will now ensure that legislative and congressional remedies have been proposed.
Mitchell said her group aims to “fix these problems permanently” going forward.
Ken Cuccinelli, chairman of the Election Transparency Initiative, told The Federalist that the election still dragging on, with counting continuing in Arizona and Nevada, is a “problem”. From 2019 to 2021, Cuccinelli served as the Department of Homeland Security’s acting deputy secretary.
” This’ weeks past election day ‘ nature of the election really is a problem”, Cuccinelli said. ” It’s a security problem, it’s a transparency problem, it’s a perception of our own system problem”.
He claimed that because it was a “landslide,” this election overall appeared more straightforward. Cuccinelli continued, saying that campaign activists should concentrate on removing voter rolls, passing the SAVE Act, making it necessary to have voter identification, and requiring voter identification for all elections, including for those taking ballots abroad.
He agreed with Johnson and Mitchell’s claim that advocates for election integrity are working on their case and not just because Trump won, as The New York Times claims.  ,
” The election integrity movement has an absolute commitment to keep working,” Cuccinelli said. ” We ai n’t done yet”.
