Vladimir Putin, the president-elect of Russia, congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US vote, praised him for showing courage in an attempted assassination, and said Moscow was prepared to engage in dialogue with the Republican president-elect.
Putin claimed that during an assassination attempt on him while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in his first open comment since Trump’s victory.
Putin added that Putin should have been paying attention to comment Trump made about Ukraine and Russia during the election campaign. If Trump were to be elected, he claimed during fighting that he could bring peace to Ukraine within 24 hrs.
Putin said he was prepared to begin contacts with Trump if a Trump presidency wanted that, and that he was prepared for discussions with him if a respondent called him to suggest a meeting.
Putin’s official Dmitry Peskov, yet, said on Friday that Putin’s eagerness to talk to Trump does not mean Putin is willing to alter his needs and Russia’s targets in Ukraine remain intact.
The president-elect said in an appointment with Trump that he had never spoken with Putin since his victory this week, but that he now believed we will talk. news
