Immediately after Donald Trump won the election, a number of racist text messages apparently were sent to Black people, some of whom were actually students. On Thursday, national authorities announced that they were already looking into the event. Pictures of such texts flooded social media with Trump-haters commenting that it’s only been two days, actually, after the vote.
” Congratulations! At the closest estate, you have been chosen to get fabric. Choose arrive at home on November 24, 2024, and our light truck will pick you up at 8 a.m. You’ll also be in Group C, and offer your opinion. Honestly, A TRUMP SUPPORTER”, the information read like this with the date and time adjusted.
Who is sending these racist language information? Who are the target?
The FBI claimed to be aware of the unpleasant and racial word emails being sent across the US. According to CNN and the AP, the emails were sent secretly to individuals living in some states, including Maryland, New Jersey, Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, New York and South Caroline.
The message was delivered the day after Election Day, and persons started receiving it.
Nearly all communications were from a ‘ TRUMP SUPPORTER’.
According to a statement from the University of Alabama, “individuals across the country have received these repulsive communications” and urged people with information to review it.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, at odds with Donald Trump, said the “texts appear to be targeting Black and Brown people, including pupils, and may include specific information about the victim for as their name or place”.
Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, claimed that these texts are completely unrelated to the battle.
A social media users responded to the announcement by saying,” Surprised by this I am not.”
” Scholar of slavery here. Welcome to Trumps America”, another wrote.
