According to Students for Life, one person was detained as a result of the event.
Individuals spit on a pro-life head, mobbed her show stand, and stole maternal types Thursday at Virginia Commonwealth University, according to Students for Life of America.
One scholar was arrested, the pro-life firm stated on its website.
The incident occurred during Lydia Davis ‘” Abortion is Violence” campus journey, which was interrupted by Students for Life director.
On Thursday, unhappy learners began chanting “abortion on demand” and formed a crowd around Davis’s show table, according to the corporation:
Rather of” caring for women”, as some pro-abortion supporters claim, an unhappy student spit at Davis, and one student stole maternal designs and tore up SFLA function brochures. Thankfully, security was there to catch and arrest him.
The online threats ]related to the VCU event ] were abundant, calling Davis an “evil bitch, encouraging people to” push her to the curb, “wishing her pain and death, and more despicable names, which are hardly civil arguments, but rather unfounded and unintelligent attacks.
We’re appreciative of the VCU police for protecting our safety and that of those who wanted to engage in a civil discussion, Davis said.
The Fix‘s request for more information about the incident and arrest, as well as VCU’s efforts to ensure diverse opinions are respected on campus, was not immediately responded to by the university media relations office on Friday.
Despite some students ‘ hostility, Davis claimed that she regularly conversed with students about abortion.
” It’s never a shock when these incidents occur, but it’s a stark reminder of why I’m doing this tour in the first place,” Davis stated”. There are many students who want to have a respectful conversation, as well as students who lean pro-choice but stand against abortion extremism, as evident by the results of the election.
” However, students who purposefully break the law, vandalize our property, and physically spit at us prove the point of my tour without me saying a word: abortion is violence, and radical abortion supporters can resort to violence or inappropriate behavior themselves”, she stated.
At previous campus events, students at VCU have also clashed with Students for Life leaders.
Notably, in 2023, six individuals faced criminal charges after attacking two separate events sponsored by the national pro-life organization, The College Fix reported.
At one event, students and individuals with the group Antifa disrupted a speech by Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins, several were arrested, according to the organization.
