I consciously keep this paragraph politics-free most months, but it’s hard to ignore the vote. We were greeted by a government that was more angry than any other prior leadership.

If you constantly read this paragraph, I would imagine that you’re Holy or Christian-adjacent. If you routinely read PJ Media, I’d assume you’re pleased that Kamala Harris lost or that Donald Trump won.
The week before the vote, I ordered a t-shirt that reads” Jesus is on the king no matter who is in the White House.” Regardless of how the election turned out, it has a strong information, of course, even though it was delivered the day after the vote.
More than a few Christians have prayed for a Trump success, and many of us have at least prayed” Lord, Your did be done.” What should we do now that the vote is over, though?
Josh Howerton, priest of Lakepointe Church in Dallas, posted” 4 points Christians should be doing after the poll” on Instagram. Howerton has been outspoken about how Christians could n’t in good conscience support a Harris administration, even as he has admitted that the Trump campaign has n’t been ideal for Christians. Obviously, this has resulted in numerous people telling him that they were Harris supporters on his website.
” Our nation was given an undeserved mercy last night, and it is a window for repentance ( more on that later )”, he begins. ” No Christian anywhere should’ve supported the policy platform that was ( mercifully ) defeated last night, and saying that should never have been controversial”. He continued, “it may prompt *deep* mirror about what happened to the U.S. church in the last 20 years that made it provocative for a priest to state that.”

Howerton’s second bit of advice to Christians is to give thanks. He suggests that the poll results be celebrated.
He states,” It is not wrong to honor and thank God that we were spared from what our rebellious state deserved.” The saying goes,” If you have children, they need to see you enjoy because it trains their souls”
He quotes Proverbs 11: 10a:” When it goes well with the virtuous, the city exults…”
To his advice, I would add that we should express gratitude and celebrate, but we should n’t gloat. Consider how so many people were poor activities after the 2016 vote? Again therefore I wrote:
Trump supporters are gloating like one’s company, and many of them are bad finalists. On the other side of the band, I’ve seen a lot of content that act as though the world is on its last legs and feature angry losers everywhere.
No matter which side we are on, we must work differently in sincerity and grace.  ,
Let’s be thankful and elegant even as we celebrate.
Howerton’s next touch of advice is to “be the child in the room”.
” Officials last four years, friends and family final life”, he wrote. ” Do not reduce a lifelong connection over a short-term head”.
Amen! He makes reference to Ephesians 4:13, which states that Christians are “eager to keep the unification of the Spirit in the relationship of peace.” He likewise links Matthew 5: 9:” Blessed are the martyrs, for they may be called sons of God”.
Next, Howerton advises that we need to worship. Before you say,” Duh”!, examine the rest of this advice:

Due to the circumstances, not just because we are required to pray for our elected leaders ( 1 Tim 2:11 ). There are risks associated with electing Jehu ( a flawed leader who overran a greater evil ), as opposed to Josiah ( a righteous leader who spearheaded national revival ).
There is something 10 billion times more than an election that we should ache and long for because of the command to” trust not in princes” ( Psalm 146:3 ).
Finally, Howerton suggests that we “hurl]ourselves ] into the purposes of God in our generation”. This guidance includes the notion that we should pray for restoration as well as to serve the world as a lighting.
” Absent a spiritual awakening in our country, it will not matter in the long run if there are politicians who will propose godly laws]because ] there wo n’t be enough godly people to vote for them”, he writes. ” More important,’ Judeo-Christian values ‘ can keep a country out of panic, but they cannot keep a man out of hell. That is only possible by Jesus Christ’s heart.
The Bible tells us to” find the happiness of the town where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its security you will find your happiness” ( Jeremiah 29: 7, ESV). That’s correct no matter who is in authority.
” The main thing is still the primary thing: making followers of all countries”, he adds. ” Revolution and restoration to restore the functions of God in our era.” It feels like we’re on the point, the taller lawn is rustling outside, and we’re waiting to see where the Lion of Judah did attack”.

The Great Commission for us is for Jesus to “go so and make followers of all countries, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to follow all that I have commanded you.” And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” ( Matthew 28: 19-20, ESV). He commanded the church to” …be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” ( Acts 1: 8b, ESV).
He also stated to His ( and for us ) fans,””
You are the light of the world. Hidden in a town that is perched on a hill People do n’t even light a lamp in the house and place it under a basket; instead, they stand in front of a stand and let the entire house see the light. In the same way, shine your lighting on some so that they can view your accomplishments and praise your Heavenly Father.
Matthew 5: 14-16 ( ESV )
This continue to be that light of the world, no matter who is in the halls of power.
