Sonia Sotomayor, a justice of the US Supreme Court, has no intention of leaving her location despite some calling for President Biden to nominate a successor before his name is over and President-elect Donald Trump sworn in.
” She’s in excellent health, and the jury needs her now more than ever”, said one cause, according to a CNN record.
Vermont senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT ) also said on Sunday that Sotomayor should n’t resign from her position. ” I do n’t think it’s sensible”, Sanders said on NBC’s” Meet the Press”.
In order for Biden to appoint a new democratic justice before January, when Republicans are expected to take control of the senate, some liberal voices have suggested that fairness Sotomayor retire. But, Sotomayor has opted never to retire.
The validation process for a supreme court nominee takes several months, making it nearly impossible to finish before January, yet without problems.
Born on June 25, 1954, in the Bronx, Sotomayor is the child of Juan Sotomayor and Celina Baez, both of whom are from Puerto Rico. The courageous federal prosecution court judge became the first Latina and second woman to serve on the US Supreme Court and helped stop a devastating Major League Baseball strike in 1995.
Sotomayor is still active on the jury despite openly discussing her type 1 diabetes situation. She has spoken out loud about her issues about the court’s extremely liberal direction and is well-known for her thorough questioning during oral arguments.
