U. S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Penn., refuses to accept the 2024 vote yet though his Republican opponent has claimed victory and the Associated Press has declared Dave McCormick the success.
Casey has held elected department since 1997, when he was elected Pennsylvania’s accountant standard. Before becoming a U.S. Senator in 2006, he even held the office of state treasurer. He wanted a third term.
During his time in office, Casey took a break from solving violence, poverty, and war to invest time ousting President-elect Donald Trump for asking questions about the 2020 election.
In a statement from 2021, Casey argued that President Trump may be impeached and removed from office because he violated his oath and incited a crowd to violence. ” Those in Congress who spearheaded the energy to destroy a democratic vote should also be held accountable. Congress should start looking into condemnation or expulsion if they refuse to withdraw their posts.
Casey is now the one posing issues regarding the results of the election.
As of Monday night, McCormick had a result of simply over 35, 000 vote, which is a.51 percentage guide.
In Pennsylvania, any prospect of less than half a percent place triggers an involuntary recall, and the percentage is just a hair over that. If a recall is triggered, the trailing applicant has the option of declining the recall.  ,
Last year the Department of State said there were “at least 100, 000 vote remaining to get adjudicated”. Those include both domestic and foreign vote.
According to Department of State information, 37, 642 outside citizens requested vote to voting in Pennsylvania. Some people request a vote but always transfer it to be counted, while others are returned after the deadline. Typically, the transfer price is less than 100 %.
In addition, not all temporary votes are counted. Those who have deficiencies or issues may be thrown out under state law. For instance, a vote could be cast by a voter who presently voted elsewhere and does not include a secret envelope or lacks a signature.
On the state election board, Lancaster County Commissioner Ray D’Agostino stated that about half of temporary votes are usually rejected, and that he does not consider Casey will succeed because of this.
” That’s why the AP called]the race ]”, D’Agostino told The Federalist.
On Monday evening, some 87, 000 temporary ballots were still being counted around the condition, including around 20, 000 in Philadelphia and 12, 000 in Allegheny, plus people in a few smaller regions, an election cause told The Federalist, and Democrat observers are keeping a close eye on the evaluation of each individual vote.
Marc Elias, the infamous attorney who helped to derail Trump during the Russian dossier hoax, made a public statement on social media that he is looking for a way to challenge the Senate election results in court.
Elias did not respond to an X-related comment request or explain the plan he suggested.
The Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas has already given the Senate election case a thorough evaluation. How many observers can watch the vote-crunching process according to a formula. One observer for each political party and one observer for each candidate are permitted under Pennsylvania law.
Philadelphia had 37 Democrat candidates, which allows Democrats to have 38 observers. However, the county’s provisional ballot counting process was limited to 10 Republicans who ran for office, making 11 of them eligible to observe the results. Republicans were at a disadvantage because 11 observers could not see every ballot handled by an election official, but Democrats could see every single ballot. The court rejected McCormick’s request for the counting to be done in a way that made it possible for Republican observers to view each ballot.
Trump’s questioning of the 2020 election results has long been criticized by Elias.
In December 2020, Elias wrote that” Trumpism’s defining characteristic is the notion that any electoral outcome that does not favor Trump and his allies must be fraudulent.” However, Elias has since traveled to Pennsylvania to cast doubt on the results and give false hope to the losing Democrats.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N. Y., is another newly minted election denier. McCormick was not invited to a freshmen senators ‘ Senate orientation, according to Schumer. He also fought for Trump’s impeachment.
” America is not a dictatorship”, Schumer said in a 2021 statement on Trump’s impeachment. The fundamental tenet of the rule of law, including the adage,” Just power can only derive from the proxies of the governed,” has been and will forever be a democracy.
Get out of the way, Senator. The voters have spoken.  ,
