During a mountain of Muslim leaders in Riyadh on Monday, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday condemned Israel’s steps against Palestinians.
He reiterated the kingdom’s aid for Palestinian right, as reported by BBC News, and defended Saudi Arabia’s position as a “refusal of the social murder committed by Israel against the brotherly Arab people.”
The conference was attended by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, along with officials from Jordan, Egypt, and Lebanon. Both Bashar al-Assad and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Syria, were current.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal al Farhan Al-Saud, stated that” the international community generally has failed in ending the immediate issue and putting an end to Israel’s hostility”.
The Saudi Crown Prince also issued a warning to Israel against engaging in military activity in Iran, a change in Saudi Arabia’s position. This growth suggests a closer relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran, especially now that years of tension have been resolved diplomatically between the two countries.
The summit sought to compel Israel to leave Palestinian-occupied territories and win provincial support for Israeli sovereignty. Saudi authorities said the event’s aim was to “unify opportunities” to achieve profound peace.
Donald Trump is viewed more strongly in Saudi Arabia than Joe Biden, despite his inconsistent Middle East experience. Amid the high-profile mountain, conversations about Trump’s potential gain to the White House have gained interest.
Following Hamas’s assault on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, hundreds of militants infiltrated the area, killing around 1,200 people and holding hundreds captive, prompting the conflict in Gaza to worsen. In response, Israel launched a defense strategy aimed at dismantling Hamas. According to the Hamas-run health department, more than 43, 400 people have been killed in Gaza.
