Marn’i Washington, a Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) supervisor who was fired for directing Hurricane Milton relief effort workers in Florida to skip homes with signs expressing support for President-elect Donald Trump, has pushed back against the agency’s claims that her case was an “isolated” incident.
Washington claimed that her advice to FEMA staffers to “avoid houses marketing Trump” stemmed from a common FEMA scheme of avoiding “politically angry” houses during an interview with Roland Martin on his present” Roland Martin Unfiltered.” Washington said that while FEMA claimed she acted freely, she actually followed the group’s standard policy.
“FEMA often preaches mitigation first and then de-escalation, so this is not isolated”, Washington told Martin. You wo n’t find avoidance in the Carolinas, but this is a colossal example of avoidance, not just in Florida.
Washington continued,” Top administration will lie to you and show you that they do not know.”
A FEMA spokeswoman informed The Daily Wire that Washington had been fired for her steps after it was reported that Washington had verbally and in person directed staff to prevent Trump supporters ‘ houses. The director called it an “isolated event” that the agency did not approve of.
The FEMA spokesperson continued,” We are reaching out to the individuals who may have not been reached as a result of this occurrence. The worker had no power and was given no instructions to warn teams to prevent these houses.”

The former FEMA boss told Martin that a review of the company’s event reports would reveal how people “politically hostile” some neighborhoods, despite FEMA’s description of Washington’s actions as an “isolated affair.” Washington claimed that there was a” group pattern” of “hostility” observed from Trump supporters in Lake Placid, Florida.
According to Washington, some people with Trump signs or flags at their residences showed “hostility” by saying,” I do n’t like FEMA”,” You guys are lying to people”,” You’re not helping people”, and” You’re part of the Biden-Harris campaign”.
Pushing up against the company’s states, Washington said, “FEMA’s really well aware of the situations that take place, not just with my team, but with all the personnel in the states”.
Washington claimed that her FEMA bosses were in favor of her decision to avoid conducting home surveys on particular Florida roadways during her meeting with Martin. In response to a message that explained a street was “politically hostile” and that the FEMA team was” not canvassing this street further”, Washington’s supervisor reportedly said,” Great decision. Thanks for the update”.
Washington’s meeting with Martin was shared Tuesday on X, previously Online.
