Known as the “4B” activity, little for the” Four Nos” — no relationship, no sex, no marriage, and no pregnancy with men — this campaign emerged in the mid-2010s as a response to deeply rooted gender disparities in South Korea. As American people wrestle with issues relating to rights and gender equality, it has just become a popular trend.
What is the 4B movement?
The 4B activity, which was started by South Korean people, aims to challenge traditional gender roles and the heavy workload that girls are subject to while performing both paid job and the majority of household chores.
Official information indicates South Korean women do 3.5 times more paid work at home than men, which, combined with common cyber-sex crimes and high-profile cases of gender-based murder, has driven some women to accept regular relationships immediately.

Following Trump’s victory in the November election, TikTok and Facebook videos about the subject quickly gained popularity as one of the major search trends on Google.
Many American ladies questioned their political functions and gender equality as a result of the poll, which was marked by worries over Trump’s three conservative Supreme Court visits and the resultant rollback of abortion rights.
What kind of impact has South Korea had?
South Korea has one of the lowest birth rates in the world, and nearly 42 % of households consist of single occupants, a trend expected to continue. Over 40 % of young adults in Seoul reported not having sex in the previous year, with women citing a lack of interest as the main cause. For many, even if they do n’t explicitly identify with 4B, their choices reflect similar values of independence and non-engagement in traditional relationships.
