Although Delta Air Lines  acknowledged this week that sympathetic employee information was leaked as a result of a third-party data breach, it did not contain any sensitive information.
The information included” items like names, contact information and business place”, but no sensitive personal data, according to , the , Atlanta-based flight.
The Delta data was portion of a much larger hack into individual directories of a few hundred big companies, including Amazon,  , Charles Schwab , and McDonald’s, according to a , blog post by hacking brains firm Hudson Rock.
According to , Hudson Rock, the stolen information posted in a hacking conference schedules back to , May 2023 , and is related to , a risk in MOVEit file transfer software commonly reported last month.  , It included more than 57, 000 records from Delta,  , Hudson Rock , said. Delta has roughly 100, 000 employees.
The University System of , Georgia was one of the other businesses that was affected by the MOVEit breach last year.
Delta claimed that no of its systems have been compromised, and that its information security team has “validated that this data is internal directory information that originated from a third party.”
The company stated that Delta teams work tirelessly to protect Delta’s data because it is crucial that that information’s security and integrity be maintained.
The hacker’s message about the data” suggests an intention to make organizations aware of the potential threats and weaknesses in their systems, while also making the data available for malicious actors who may misuse it,” according to Hudson Rock  in a blog post.
The U. S. Securities , and Exchange Commission ‘s , Division of Enforcement , in , October 2023 , issued a subpoena seeking documents and information from , Progress Software , on the vulnerability to its MOVEit software.
In August,  , Progress Software , said , the SEC’s fact-finding investigation had concluded and the , SEC , notified Progress that “it does not intend to recommend an enforcement action against the company at this time”.
