Pete Hegseth as secretary of Defense? Sure, why no: He’s a beautiful, able guy with combat experience, a extensive worldview, and plenty of multimedia experienced. Hegseth is ideally equipped to not just apply Trump’s military plan, he is also” market” this agenda to the National folks— and in politics, that things. Great find!

Marco Rubio as the state’s secretary of state Sure, why no: He’s a three-term senator and a former candidate for president. He serves on the Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Foreign Relations. Plus, he now knows most earth leaders. Great find!
Tulsi Gabbard as director of National Intelligence? Sure, why not: She was a four-term congresswoman ( served on military and foreign affairs committees ), a presidential candidate, and a distinguished, award-winning military veteran. She is unquestionably qualified to lead our knowledge, unless you’re a Hillary Clinton Kool-Aid connoisseur who still thinks Gabbard is a” Russian asset.” Great find!
Matt Gaetz as counsel standard? ]Checks watch ]” Ouch! Look at the time — took go”!
Regardless of how you slice it, choosing Gaetz to be the AG was a strange choice. He’s NOT the best man for the job.
I’m not trying to smash the bro. There is absolutely room for people like Matt Gaetz if the Republican Party is going to be a great tent, lot party, just like there is space for Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. Allow’ em all in!
But probably not in a position of authority.
Ted Cruz as AG? Or Ron DeSantis? Or even an exterior collection, like Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley? These men are well-versed in constitutional law and possess powerful legal skills. They’d been remarkable legal raptors to protect our republic from illegal blue-state excess. A house work may be made by either of the three.

But why Gaetz?
There is more going on than meets the eye, either: Donald Trump really believes that Matt Gaetz is the best man in America to get our nation’s attorney general, or either one of the two is correct.
Physically, I’m leaning towards the latter idea:  , I think the Gaetz collection was a head-fake.
Gaetz ‘ selection by Trump, based on his virtues, is not improbable. After all the legal chaos from his first term ( and the despicable “lawfare” waged by the Biden-Harris administration ), it’s understandable that Trump would prioritize loyalty over experience and judicial expertise. Like all of us, Gaetz has his strengths and weaknesses, the Kevin McCarthy discussion and/or GOP in-fighting with, Gaetz is a MAGA nationalist who will devote himself to fulfilling the Trump plan.
Given that he has no intention of receiving his confirmation, it’s probable that Trump chose Gaetz. After all, he ca n’t possibly be bucked by just a few defecting RINOs.
So why do it?
First of all, it allowed Gaetz to resign from Congress without losing a seat ( Republican Governor Ron DeSantis will choose his replacement ) with dignity, even amidst the cloud of investigations. It’s a great way to praise him for his unwavering commitment and to pique others ‘ commitment.

After all, a great activity looks after its own.
Additionally, I’m reminded of this observation from American philosopher ( and former” Saturday Night Live” writer ) Jack Handey:
What is probably a good idea to include on your door in the summer to prevent mosquitoes from entering your home? Only a big case full of blood.  ,
Gaetz might have offered to serve as the sacrifice goat.
Every day there’s a new leader, at least one of their votes is either Borked or withdrawn when it’s obvious they cannot be confirmed. Bill Clinton nominated five people ( Zoe Baird, Kimba Wood, Bobby Ray Inman, Anthony Lake, and Hershel Gober ) who were never confirmed. Linda Chavez or Bernie Kerik could n’t be passed through George W. Bush’s finish line. Barack Obama failed with three: Tom Daschle, Bill Richardson, and Judd Gregg. Eight years ago, Trump stumbled with Andrew Puzder, Ronny Jackson ( who rebounded rather nicely ), Patrick Shanahan, and John Ratcliffe. And Mr. D. C. Insider himself, Joe Biden, could n’t get his OMB Director, Neera Tanden, confirmed.
Matt Gaetz might be our bloody monster, then.
If the Senate rejects Gaetz, Trump has a typical enemy to bridge against. Additionally, in order to prevent Team MAGA from primary voting against Trump during the remainder of his word, the RINOs in the Senate would have less political cash to use against him. And finally, people Trump nominates as AG may sound reasonable and fair by comparison.

Which idea do you think? Trump may be playing checkers, but 4-D chess’s Gaetz election was the first move.
