Nikki Haley claimed there was an overture from Trump’s side through Trump’s confidante Steve Witkoff to patch things up between the President-elect and the former US ambassador to the United States. On her weekly show Nikki Haley Live, she said she had no interest in being in Trump’s cabinet and Trump knew that but still sent his best friend Steve Witkoff to her house in South Caroline and spoke about a truce between Haley and Donald Trump.
Haley claimed that she had agreed to a ceasefire with Witkoff, that she had no desire to rebel against Trump, that she had backed him, and that she had also said no. ” I told him at the time there was no peace needed, that Trump had my help. My conclusion did not experience any issues. At that point, he was like,’ What do you want? Show me what you want. Is there anything you want?’ I said,’ There’s everything I want.'”
Trump has made it a point to mention that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo will not be a part of his presidency as he has been making announcements about the visits to his leadership. ” I will not be inviting past Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to meet the Trump Administration, which is now in development. Trump wrote on Truth Social,” I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and I would like to thank them for their services to our country.”
Nikki Haley responded that working with Trump before was a honor. ” I wish him, and all who serve, great achievements in moving us ahead”. Nikki Haley stated that she wanted to be more assertive and make it clear that she had no curiosity in any position.
” The truth is, I know the game he was playing. I do n’t need to play that game, but more importantly, we have to look at the bigger picture. It is time to walk on”, Haley explained.
” Would I take it personally? No, that’s who he is. He may be thin at times, and I think he showed that”.
Haley said she spoke with Howard Lutnick, co-chair of Trump’s transition staff but did not ask anything for herself. According to Haley,” I think it’s really important that Trump surrounds himself with people who are going to tell the truth, and I mentioned one I thought would be great for business director and that I thought the UN adviser should be a case pick.”
