Carissa Jane Smith, a 30-year-old past alternative teacher in the US state of Missouri, faces several charges for allegedly offering students income, liquor, and marijuana in exchange for sex.
Smith, from Dixon, located 130 kilometers south of St Louis, offered kids money, liquor, and weed to engage in sexual acts with her, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. For allowing her to perform oral sex on them and offering payment for sex, which is typically$ 100, were two examples. Smith also admitted to giving the students money to keep the conversations a secret, according to the sheriff’s office.
Dixon Middle School hired Smith in September 2022 as a long-term substitute, according to a New York Post report.
Between August 2023 and September 2024, Smith is accused of having sex with students. The alleged incidents occurred at various locations, including Smith’s home and on roadsides. On a gravel road, according to reports, one alleged encounter occurred.
One victim alleged that Smith, who is married and has children, allegedly forced him to ejaculate inside of her. The victim then reacted” That was f—ked up”, after the encounter. Afterward, Smith reportedly gave him additional funds.
Another youngster claimed that Smith had sex with him while he was a middle school student.
Smith was detained on November 12 by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
According to court documents, Smith allegedly exchanged explicit photos and money for sex on Snapchat with at least one victim.
” Smith began sending them pictures of her breasts and buttocks, along with her nude in the shower”, said a Daily Mail report, citing court documents.
The student allegedly received a command to keep quiet. ” You know you ca n’t talk about this with anybody”?, the victim said what Smith told him.
In another instance, Smith is accused of using marijuana to smoke it with a student and former Dixon School District nurse Lacey Beam. After dropping Beam at her home, Smith took the student to McDonald’s as her husband was at the residence with their children, according to the court documents.
Smith is charged with eight counts of statutory rape, one count of sodomy, three counts of sexual contact with a student, two counts of sexual misconduct with a student, one count of patronizing prostitution, two counts of sexual trafficking a child, and two counts of hindering prosecution, according to a New York Post report.
The possibility of additional charges has not been excluded by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. Smith is currently being held on a$ 250, 000 bond.
Travis Bohrer, superintendent of the Dixon R-1 School District, stated that the district had been informed of the allegations earlier this year and had cooperated with the sheriff’s office’s investigation. The district has spoken with the victims ‘ families and conducted an internal investigation. Bohrer called the situation “very disturbing and distressing”, according to a New York Post report.
