OPINION: Editors of the University of Portland scholar magazine, who were 10 or 11 when Trump was initially elected, give their view of the doom and gloom that is coming
As a “anxiety” warning for this election, the University of Portland student newspaper sent a bookmark weapon of assaults to President Donald Trump.
The Catholic school, where pupils cried because a preacher asked for a pride flag to be removed, continues to beclown itself.
The scholar reporters, who were about 10 or 11-years-old during Trump’s primary vote, offered this caution in their newspaper.
They wrote:
The Beacon Editorial Board stands with politics, fact, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, the integrity and security of immigrants, equal access to education, culture justice, freedom of the press, religious freedom, racial justice and the right to protest.
We stand against authoritarianism, racist-stereotype/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>fear-mongering, restrictions on physical freedom, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, racist and exclusionary policies, tax cuts for the wealthy, voter suppression, censorship, mass deportations and the destruction of our planet — all of which Trump has promised.
The editors urge their fellow editors to continue the fight despite acknowledging the “anger” of Trump’s election ( which included winning all seven swing states and a record number of Latinos ).
” The fight for justice should n’t fall on a select few”, the paper said, with the “few” being” the most marginalized”.
” It’s a duty we hold collectively”, the student newspaper wrote.
It would be wonderful if Trump actually carried out some of the newspaper’s concerns, such as limiting pregnancy and opposing the LGBT mission. He has stated that he believes the state is generally in charge of the abortion debate, so I doubt whether he will do much to limit pregnancy.

This learner newspaper editorial follows another student newspapers and university hyped-up rumors. Swarthmore College’s pupil news, for example, promised to protect the school from” risks”, as The College Fix lately reported.
However, a Yale University physician cautioned against visiting Trump-supporting relatives over the holidays.
These examples serve as further evidence that knowledge does not equate knowledge or wisdom.
Further: The” Reproductive Justice Cyber Quilt” is created by Penn State students.
