Former Californian House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif. ) has filed to run for reelection in 2026 according to recent federal election paperwork.
On Thursday, Pelosi submitted the election documents to the FEC. According to The Post Millennial, the 84-year-old Democrat has served as the agent for California’s 11th Congressional District since 1987. Pelosi formerly served as the speech of the U. S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023. Last year, Pelosi was reelected to her 20th term in office.
In an interview , with The New York Times following the 2024 presidential election, Pelosi did not confirm whether her current term in office would be her last word, however, she emphasized that she would remain to “fight the battle” and attempt to help Democrats win the 2026 congressional elections.
When asked if her 20th word would be her last, Pelosi replied,” I’m not here to speak about that.” ” I’m here to combat the fight,” he said.” We need to get the second vote. I may have assumed I had used the same phrase repeatedly before the vision called, as luck would have it.

The Federal Election Commission mandates that individuals file a” Statement of Candidacy” after raising or spending$ 5, 000 in any given election cycle, according to The Washington Examiner. The outlet noted that Pelosi, who raised over$ 8.3 million in her 2024 reelection campaign, would have already surpassed the financial requirements needed to file the” Statement of Candidacy” paperwork.
According to The Post Millennial, Pelosi is now one of the ten most senior members of Congress. If she were to win re-election in the midterm elections of 2026, the previous House speaker may be 86 years old at the start of her next name.
Many social media users suggested that phrase limits are necessary to stop older members like Pelosi from running for reelection after years in office after the revelations of Pelosi’s Federal Election Commission.
One social media users tweeted,” Word boundaries are needed”. Another social internet users wrote,” Nancy Pelosi, at 84, exemplifies the situation for word limits”. Next social media user expressed the hope that Trump’s election reform will be passed before then.
