NASA staff is hopeful that Donald Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) will finally stop the excessive spending on woke diversity programs.

Under the Biden-Harris management, NASA employees spoke to the UK Daily Mail to voice their frustration with the woke DEI target. The staff at NASA told the Daily Mail that they hope to see changes now that Trump’s fresh DOGE is set to reduce state waste and have Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as CEOs.
According to the Daily Mail, NASA’s spending reports for 2020 and 2024 present grants for universities and consulting to promote “environmental justice” as well as initiatives that allegedly “embrace greater richness and equitable practices.” For example, NASA gave LMI consulting more than$ 2 million in 2023. This was to help NASA to “embark on a opportunity to combine and greatly engrain variety, addition, equity and accessibility in the culture and business”.

No wonder NASA employees are hoping that this unnecessary spending of taxpayer money will result in a return to real scientific research.  , One original NASA staff complained to the UK channel that DEI is “destroying America’s ability to compete with , China , in place because the Biden-Harris management may only finance courses that feature it”.
Under Musk and Ramaswamy, DOGE aims to “restructure Federal Agencies, reduce excessive laws, and reduce wasteful expenses.” NASA definitely needs changes in that direction. NASA receives an annual budget of at least$ 20 billion, and spends millions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, per the Daily Mail.
