If there’s one thing progressives love more than portraying themselves as soldiers, it’s portraying themselves as patients. And being able to present yourself as a victim of democratic “oppression” is hitting the jackpot.

Whoopi Goldberg does n’t act much anymore. I think I saw her on an episode of” Law and Order” a few years ago, but her” The Color Purple” days are far behind her.  ,
Back in the 1970s and 80s, washed-up actors would go on game shows such as” The$ 25, 000 Pyramid” and” Hollywood Squares”. Now, they end up hosting chat displays.  ,
Goldberg has appeared on” The View”, the number-one-rated talk show on Daytime TV, since  , 2007. It’s a great match. Goldberg, a wise and perceptive person, survives oppression and is wealthy.  ,
After disclosing her mother’s preferred desert with the other female guests on the show, Goldberg unintentionally revealed that the shop that sold her the Charlotte Russe snacks, which are” a frozen snack made with a brush cake or ladyfingers and a whipped cream or pastry filling,” per Wikipedia, refused to serve her. She was aware of the reason for this.
As the live studio visitors gasped,” I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no social leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me,” Goldberg said. ” They said that their furnaces had gone down, all kinds of things, but folks went and got them anyhow, which is why I’m not telling you who made them”.
” Maybe they did not like my elections”, Goldberg added. ” But that’s okay, because you know what? Hear, this is my mother’s party. Pick these up and bring them along with your mother and I. I appreciate everyone’s support of my day today.
The fact, as you might think, is a little more mundane.

Although Goldberg did not give the name of the shop, Entertainment Weekly sifted through the details and named the business Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island. Alice Holtermann, the owner of the shop, confirmed to EW that Goldberg had requested the sweets two weeks ago but denied that her political views had contributed to her refusal. Alternatively, Holtermann said the shop was “having problem with our stoves” at the time. The tower is almost 100 years old and thus products issues are numerous, the owner explained.
As EW reports:” Goldberg initially requested treats for a Nov. 6 appearance on a talk show, and for the Nov. 13 broadcast of’ The View ‘ — both of which she declined because she’ did n’t want to make a commitment that I ca n’t carry through ‘ over the uncertainty of her equipment. She also confirms that an unidentified woman was able to purchase around 50 Charlotte Russe desserts from the bakery on Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. ET, but she did n’t want to commit them ahead of time due to ongoing boiler problems.
However, New Yorkers smelled a mouse. Holtermann’s Bakery was swamped with requests, and the store’s faithful customers were enraged.
” I think it’s crazy. Why did she make her cake trip all the way to Long Island? To create an problem? They’ve been around forever”, Deborah Bernaz, 68, said of the author’s statements against the 145-year-old Staten Island shop.
” I do n’t think it has anything to do with politics. They’re a small Staten Island shop. I think it’s bulls–t what she’s saying. Keep politicians out of the shop”.

A teacher said that she went to Holtermann’s to help a local company. She generally can set a place out of business by making those remarks live. It’s completely ridiculous”.
In a show of support for the small, parochial area business, some local officials banded up.
Holtermann’s Bakery has been a favorite Staten Island establishment for 146 times. Staten Islanders may often show up to defend one another, despite the fact that many aspects of life may be questionable.

The overwhelming assistance has shocked Emily Holtermann.
” I truly am overrun”, Holtermann told The New York Post. ” I’m so glad to have the help. only to talk to people and grow my business.
According to The Post, people have contacted local businesses” as far as Alabama and Tennessee so that they can contribute orders of baked goods to local schools and first responders in an effort to generate business.”
According to Holtermann, the bakery’s series centered around the tower.
” Judging by the line today, I think the one simple message is: You do n’t mess with Staten Island”, Burrough president Vito Fossella said.  ,
