US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Chris Wright, CEO of Liberty Energy and a campaign donation, to function as energy minister in his next administration.
Appointing Wright, a champion of oil and gas development, including drilling, coincides with Trump’s goal of achieving US “energy hegemony”.
The department of energy oversees a wide range of tasks, from managing the government’s atomic weapons to promoting scientific study. Additionally, it approves imports of natural gas and oversees the recovery of radioactive sites.
Republican Senator John Barrasso, who is expected to head the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, endorsed Wright’s election. ” He’s an energy entrepreneur who laid the foundation for America’s fracking boom. Our nation is hungry for a minister of power who understands how crucial American power is to our economy and national security, according to Barrasso, who has been in charge of the country’s power scheme for four years.
” Wright may help maintain America remains committed to an all-of-the-above energy policy that puts American households primary”, he added.
Wright has spoken out against what liberal and left-wing organizations label as a” top-down” approach to climate policy. He has also spoken against efforts to combat climate change.
Liberty Energy, a big energy service company, focuses on systems. Wright founded the Denver-based firm in 2010. He recently founded Pinnacle Technologies, which helped establish business shale gas production through mechanical fracturing, or drilling.
